BX24/25 or B2920 with backhoe?

You may consider purchasing a B26. The back hoe is very nice with 4200# of bucket break out force. We are also building a home and will use the B26 for uncountable tasks. It will pay for its self.

Yes, a B26 would be nice. A bit too much money for me, however - some $17,000 more than the BX25.

You are correct, it may cost more up front but you can realize the savings by accomplishing more of the task with your more capable equipment. I am not saying the B26 can do it all but depending on how much time you wish to take. You can get the savings and control of the schedule if you commit to doing it yourself. In life, it is not the destination but the journey and the act of creation can't be described by words. Imagine, plan, create and aspire.

The thumb is not a single fixed position. It has 6 positions.

I've spent a fair amount of time researching the B2x20 models outfitted with the FEL, BH, & thumb. The FEL & BH both have a subframe that connect to the main frame AND to each other when installed together. If you look carefully at the literature and or the kubota site, you can see the tractor in naked form vs. one with the FEL, or both the FEL & BH. I have been told by 2 different dealers that the subframe of the BH, which is a part of the BH "package", is added when its installed. Furthermore, it ties into the subframe portion of the FEL so its all connected. I have not seen one in person however, but by looking at the pictures carefully it seems to fall into line with how its been described to me by the dealers.

You can use a fixed thumb to pick up trees. A fixed thumb will pick up anything a hydraulic thumb will pick up. Just requires a little more finesse, time, and proper tractor placement.

Re: The frame - don't know. The B2920 I saw had no FEL or BH on it. I'll ask next time I'm up.

Oops! Tuns out the thumb I just bought IS in fact aftermarket, even though it came painted in Kubota orange. Fits, good, however. and looks real tough.

I think the "factory thumb" is made for kubota, not by kubota. Either way, I got one on order
