One larger Kioti dealer hasn't returned my email yet, but another small dealer in my area has a CK20 set up as a TLB. It is a gear tractor, and I think a holdover with the old loader. He's asking $17,500 for it. Maybe I will try that, but I'm getting closer to crossing Kioti off my list.
Keep in mind that most of the Kioti dealers are just now getting back from their week long dealer meeting, so it might be a day or two for them to catch up on email.

Chuck,One point to consider. Some of the older CK20's with HST had some issues going up a hill in higher range. The tractor bogged somewhat. My dealer tells me Kioti has addressed this by increasing the CK 3 cyl Diesel by a horse or soto the current version which is a CK20S for gear version or the CK20SHST for the Hydro version. The newer FEL for that tractor should be the KL 120 and the newer curved boom backhoe should be the KB2465. The issue with the cracked arms for the FEL have supposedly been fixed.

So, If there is any chance you buy a CK20 make sure you get the improved and slightly more horsepower version the CK20S (or w HST)and the newer version of the backhoe with curved arms.

In about two weeks, the salesman will be bringing up a CK20S HST for me to test drive. I plan on giving that thing a real workout paying particular attention to the FEL. If it's slow it will be a no go but your observation about the slowness is unusual as I have not heard of that complaint before.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

The real issue here is not the difference between 21 and 22 hp but the 2 range HST. It was not the older CK20 that had trouble going uphill with any load, it was all CK20s with HST. I seriously doubt that adding one horsepower will change that. A three range hydro on the other hand would manage the problem nicely. I suspect it will not be long before Kioti adds a third range to the CK20 transmission as Kubota has now done that for the new B series update.

The Tractor did in fact go to 22hp.
The biggest thing that helped though is the fact it is now a 1007cc(61.45 CI) engine istead of a 927cc(56.6 CI) engine.
It helped torque much more than HP.
A concrete block in high range is not an issue now.
It will practically jump a 4x4.
This is a CK20S HST
I agree with the 3 range also.
It would have helped this all along, but the bigger engine did help alot.

CK20 will have no problem lifting itself even in colder temps.
It may not have had enough hydro oil in it.
The CK20 can give you a false idea of full at times.

I thought about the oil level because there was some "chattering" as I tried to raise the front of the tractor, first using just down pressure on a level bucket, and then using the curl function.

I am not sure but I don't believe the gear tractor had the uphill bogging issue compared to the hydro version. I think this dealer could come down at least $1200 however and even more if it's not an "S" (newer model) engine. I'm being told Kioti has even got a kit out to reinforce the older FEL lift arms. It's apparently some kind of sleeve or strenthening device to be bolted on each side of the arms near the torque bar connecting both sides of the FEL.

The CK20 gear didn't have the bogging issue the HST did due to the fact that the HST eats up ~3hp, on a 20 hp machine... that is considerable. With the added HP and torque of the larger engine, this is less of an issue from all I have talked with.

I tried to lift the front of my CK30 with the front bucket this morning, didn't want to lift it. I found 2 issues, 1st it was in 4wd, I have been told it has much more difficulty lifting the front end when it is in 4wd. The 2nd thing was the front tires were frozen to the ground. Once I broke them free with curling the bucket down, then the loader lifted the tractor up no issue. It was about 5dF here this am.

I was in 4wd when I tried the CK20, and never gave that a thought...
