BX24 w/hydro or a ck20 w/ gear

I trailer my CK20 with backhoe on a 16' trailer and it's just barely enough. I have to swing the hoe to one side so it doesn't hang over the end. If things go well I will likely buy 10K 18' or 20' with a beavertail and ramps to more comfortably fit my CK20 or maybe something a little bigger. ;)

I think some one one here, i think our good friend from NH with the CK20 with the cab trailers his on a 14'. You just have to turn the backhoe to one side.
I assume you mean me...:D

I still don't have a trailer of my own since I just don't move the tractor much but when I need to, I rent a 14ft from my local rental place. With the backhoe on the side, it fits well but is very tight and I would want at least a 16ft trailer, 18ft ideally. Here are some pictures: (click thumbnails for larger images)

The height to the top of the ROPS on the CK20 is 86" (7'-2") so you would need to fold it down for a 7' door.

I use a 27 foot enclosed trailer, have to fold rops but its great, can carry the 3pt mower, tiller and have the tractor with backhoe attached no problem, remember to lower the backhoe when driving in, for me lock it and forget it, nothing exposed, I load the tiller at the back with the backhoe to get weight balanced, trailer is 10,000 pounds

Thanks to IslandTractor, Natem,hosejockey2002,DMace and laurenceN for all the great tips. Those pictures say it all. I've got lot's to consider. The pictures help me see not only that it's possible to use the 14'trailer but just how big this CK20 really is. That is a lot of tractor.

Back to the trailer. I have garage space but If I still find it necessary to invest in yet another piece of equipment (the trailer) it's going to be parked in one of my garages taking up space. The 14' version would obviously take up less space but but it seems to me that this trailer loaded with a TLB would be very difficult to balance your load for a long trip it. My truck is an F150 4WD 1/2 ton and I won't be replacing it soon. I see why you users prefer the 16 or 18' versions. If only that little BX could bench press a couple hundred extra pounds.............hmmmmmm!

Well, this information has been very useful but I will have to decide on which class/size tractor first so I don't get ahead of myself. I've asked lot's of questions but all this stuff is relative to the end decision for me to finally make. This imfo sheds some different angles to view from and I am glad it was brought up. I promise to start a new thread when I lock in on a tractor unit.

A CK20 should fit under a 7ft garage opening if it has R-4's.
With ROPS up. As long as it is a true 7ft.
Make sure the garage door goes all the way up LOL.
Kioti's website says 86" That is with Ag tires which are taller.

Another reason for the enclosed trailer, during times where its not used it doubles as a garage, workshop ect, when on the road its safer than on a flatdeck, yes I have hit the top of the door with the backhoe one time but the rops is allways folded part ways, I drilled a extra hole to lock it otherwise it rests against the backhoe or snowblower

This is perhaps a tangent from the thread. I test drove a Kioti CK20 gear yesterday, and had trouble with the loader hydraulics. It seemed to take forever to warm them up (temp was high 20's, or 30F), which I did by cycling, or trying to the loader up, and down, curl, and uncurl, etc. as I was letting the engine warm. When the dealer said it was fine to use it, I played in a partially frozen snowbank with the loader for several minutes, maybe 20,or so. At the end of the warm up time, and using time, the hydraulics were still quite pokey, and the loader still wouldn't lift the front of the tractor with any athority..... an inch, or two mabe with the bucket dumped. Is this anywhere normal for cold weather operation with this tractor? I tried both a JD, and Mahindra 2015 yesterday too, and had stronger performance cold than the CK20 warm. The Kioti dealer I was at had let the fuel start to gell too,and we started it without adding anything to help ungell the fuel. Perhaps it was poor setup, or something.

CinNH,
I have the CK30, don't know how much different it is than the CK20, but I have no issues such as that. No problem starting in 10F weather, I haven't had anything colder since I got it. I just give it 30sec-1 min of running time to get the fluids moving then go to work slowly. But it doesn't seem to have any issues doing what I want within 10 mins of startup. I don't push it too hard sooner than 10min so it might do what I want sooner. I have the feeling that the particular machine you looked at was not set up correctly.

One larger Kioti dealer hasn't returned my email yet, but another small dealer in my area has a CK20 set up as a TLB. It is a gear tractor, and I think a holdover with the old loader. He's asking $17,500 for it. Maybe I will try that, but I'm getting closer to crossing Kioti off my list.

Something odd there. The CK20 can easily lift itself, front or back, off the ground with the loader. Maybe it was the cold, I never operated mine below freezing but others do that routinely and I've never heard this complaint before.
