BX24

agree with all posts so far. buy with confidence.

i would prefer my 24 did not have the abrupt HST pedal issue, but it is livable. you get used to it.

when you get it home, check all the fluids after about 10 hours. common to have the front axle/diff be low. this is on the dealer. don't let them charge you for the SUDT.

i have done all posted above with mine plus pushed a lot of snow, hauled wood, built gardens, tilled, plowed, etc. it is very capable on a small acreage. sometimes i wish for more, but then my truck couldn't tow it and i would be paying much higher payments. at about 180 hours, i'm pretty happy. dealer has done a few adjustments for me and the only thing we can't really fix is the HST pedal issue.

yup - I totally forgot about the low fluid level in front axel. Once you get it home, Give it a once over with greasing all the zerks and checking all fliud levels. This would give you a feel for your machine.

He also makes a good point about towing - With the BX you can pretty much tow it with anything that has over 4k towing capacity.

I was supposed to meet the dealer this morning but with the snow everything got a little screwed up. I already did the driveway this morning and the snow was 10 inches deep with another 5 to 6 coming.

The dealer says he goes through the machine once he receives it for the very reasons you guys have mentioned. That stated you make a good point to re-check and it does not hurt to know what and where everything goes.

Any suggestions on bucket size for the BH. The soil is hard and rocky

   / BX24 #25
I have 12" and can't even imagine going with the 8" unless it's all for narrow trenching. My dealer and almost everyone here consider 8" undersized for normal use

just go with the normal sized 12" and get the brotek ripper to go with it. use the ripper to loosen up the soil and bucket to clear out.;)

Take radioman's advice. Get the Bro-tek thumb and ripper tooth, maybe even the skid plates if you will be driving through the woods. Even though I don't have my 24 anymore, the best part about it was the thumb.
As far as prices go, I got my 24 TLB a year ago for $14,500. I added a used 54" MMM for $800. I sold it, got a 2920, and opted out of the hoe for cost reasons.
I found the 24 to have plenty of power when mowing, but when using the hoe/ loader I found the machine to be underpowered. I found I had to really rev the machine to get the power out of the hoe/ loader. I have alot of clay where I live so that may have affected my perception of the machine.
Just make sure you drive in both high and low ranges before you buy. Also ask if they have a pit you can dig in with the machine. These tractors cost as much as a car, so make sure your are comfortable with your purchase. Please post pic's of your new toy!

So bruiser, any updates? You get this thing or what?:D

On the price - I am in TN - Best price here on a BX25 TLB, not 24, from a dealer was 15,600 without Kubota financing, 16K even with it. Highest was 16,900. Low dealer wanted another 1800 for 60" MMM, High one wanted 2500. Third dealer between the two wanted 16,400 and 1800.

Since that is range for the BX25, the BX24 at 15,500 does not sound like such a great deal.
