BX24

Thanks everyone for your replies. I appreciate the feedback it really helps. I have two acres of land in Fairfield, CT. Hard pack and rocky soil. I need to level much of the back yard and pull stumps. I took down roughly 70 to 100 small tress leaving the stumps, (All under 6 inches) and then I have 5 big stumps 12-16 inches round. The idea here is to get enough tractor to do everything. I made the mistake of buying to quick and not enough the first time.

Can anyone tell me how he or she likes his or her BH? I am a homeowner and weekend warrior so I do not need the most power or speed just enough tractor that with perseverance I will get the job done.

Spending the money and the TLB not having enough power or ability to do what a TLB needs to is my concern, I do not want to end up with a cool looking toy backhoe.
Luve it !

I have not pulled the trigger yet. John Deere called me late last week about the x320 mower and we are trying to come to terms. They offered an extra year of warranty I am still trying to get out from the machine all together. I am supposed to speak with them this week. The Kubota dealer could only offer $2000 for a trade so I am thinking I may need to keep the mower and just get the extra year warranty and buy a TLB. That being said if I keep the mower I would not need a MMM and so I am looking at what Kubota has to offer. Maybe I should get something a little larger or different from the BX. Also by keeping the mower it I can take a little more time to make sure I get the right machine. The fire to buy has not burned out just stoking at the moment and it doesn稚 hurt that the dollar is getting stronger and the yen gets weaker.

Keep your JD for a mower because you're going to take a beating by selling it and you don't seem to be getting a reasonable price for the bx MMM. If you have both, you'll love cutting the lawn on saturday and hopping on your BX 24 to go into the woods for stump removal on sunday (without having to monkey around with putting the MMM on and off). If you need some cash later, you can sell the JD at your convenience and at your price and buy 2 MMMs. In regard to a tractor bigger than the 24 or 25, you'll lose maneuverability and gain a little in HP/pump output. A BH set up will cost you much more with a bigger tractor too and you'll defintely need to keep a dedicated mower. In the end, choosing a bigger tractor than the BX will cost you 10K more than you're looking at now. Whatever you do, let us know and post pics of your new baby on the property.

Well I just got off the phone with Kubota. BX24 for $15K. He is adding 2 hooks on the loader bucket and 1 hook on the BH bucket. R4 tires and I pick it up on Friday. I am keeping the JD as a mower for now.

Sounds like a great decision. from a financial and functional perspective. Is it a new BX24? Be careful about welded hooks on the FEL.....depending on how it's done, it will prevent you from being able to use some of the FEL bucket options offered by BXpanded. Not a big deal if you don't plan on using these in the future. We need PICS!!!!

It is a left over 2008. I went with the welded hooks so I would not need to buy something else. He was willing to throw them in.

I am going to hold off on the MMM. I still have the JD x320. If I decide to sell that I will buy the MMM

The dealer is suggesting I go with Turf tires. I wanted the R4 tires. He does not care either way. Will the R4's tear up the lawn that much? The yard is bascally dry year round as it slopes.
