BX25 Full Cage Rollbar

Artisan; I added a JD canopy to my 4110 Deere. I would guess it weighs 65 or so pounds. I recently took it off as I mow and use a loader in some sharp inclines. I could not believe how it made the machine feel top heavy. It may be better with some wheel weights or tire fluid. The thin plastic doesn't give me the feeling of security and it may crack into many pieces if it were to roll. My plan is to build a cab with quick removal points to be used in winter for snow removal. The extra weight should not be a problem as long as I stick to the road surface. rock rake, snow blower mount 005.jpg

I was at the dealer last week and they had a couple of different oranges (I had to ask which was the correct one) - and they also had at least 2 different greys.

Long answer short - yes, You should be able to get the correct grey color at the dealer.

I have had really good luck with the new tractor paint that they sell at Tractor Supply, it is exact match, and I can't tell the difference. It works very well. Majic® Tractor, Truck & Implement Spray Enamel, 11 oz., Kubota Orange - 1031006 | Tractor Supply Company

Agent Blue, indeed ballasting down low would be smart and I
think I eluded to it in prior posts. I have a few thoughts, a good
heavy skid pan, maybe attached to the MMM lowering arms,
so maybe I can hinge it and lower it to replace my trans filter
would be good. Or some bars. I have another thread where I am
looking at receivers front and rear, great spots to hang weights.
That rear cross bar is heavy, maybe 22lbs, I "may" lighten it w/ a whole bunch
of .625 holes...I dunno...we shall see.

Attached is a picture of a spray can in the color you need.

Also available at TSC (USA) Valspar brand

And yes that is $13.95+ 13% tax for a spray can in Ontario Canada!

I really liked the Valspar Brand, but TSC is discontinuing carrying it this month. They said it was a cooperate decision. It is a good time to stock up, because they aree selling what they have left on clearance. Thats really expensive, but they get you some times on custom spray paint. Can you come over the boarder and buy it cheaper in the US?

Valspar implement/tractor paint not available at my local TSC must go to USA if I want to buy!

Funny thing is that Valspar plant is on Second street West in my city!

TSC in Canada carry UPC? and Exmark implement paint.

But yes much cheaper in USA. As for the kubota paint nearest dealer in USA is 1 hr. away

yes they have the OEM gray paint at kubota. Its quite a bit more money - but once it dries, its thicker then gray valspar paint from TSC.

After 3 weeks of no replys from my closest Kubota dealer I called
last night and found the salesman who I was emailing and he said
they were still having problems w/ email but he will look and email
me in the morning....

OK, So i get an email that says "Got your email." Thats is ALL it said.

3 minutes later an email is sent from Parts Dept and it says: WE CAN NOT SHIP PAINT.

no signature, no quote nothing....WHAT is wrong w/ people! They know I am
well over 18 years old and do taggers by Kubota Gray to tag w/ anyways?

NUTZ!

sure you can!!! you just write Consumer Commodity ORM-D under shipper name and add Fill out the shipper's declaration for dangerous goods and affix it in triplicate on the side of the box.

Thats got to be very frustrating, I would try TSC if you have one near you. I believe that Valspar has Kubota Grey, and if they still have it in stock, you should be able to get it. They may even have it in a gallon, if you have a sprayer. I also found a few on ebay that you may want to look at:

Thats a great idea, and should help lower your center of gravity a bit as well. I am going to have to look at having one made for my tractor, thanks!

VIOLA! Ask and ye shall receive! Great minds think alike ehh? Very nice LeeJohn,
good job! So am I right here, you can unlock the front pins and then
Lower the MMM mount w/ controls? You gotta do a YouTube!
Do you have an IPHONE? Easy to do w/ an IPHONE. Very cool!

Thanx for posting the pics. I didn't see this till this morning.

I have another thread going, on second thought I probably should have
keep it here regarding my Enclosure / Cage? that I am building.
Seems a couple children wish me to fail, HERE.

I will move it back into this thread.

I decided to anchor the cage to the rear ROPS w/o welding or drilling anything.
In this picture I show where the anchor will go. The anchor is 3" x 3" square
tube. I radius cut the ends and box welded them up as well. The 2 UBOLTS
you see will be replaced and 6-8 .5" Diameter X 6" long pro-UBOLTS, fine threads,
tall nuts, extra thick washers will be used.

Here is the rear anchor. PS = Passenger Side - DS = Drivers Side - Up is up.
It is a lil confusing because it is in the vise kittywamphus.

I wanted more than just a butt weld of the round tube to the anchor so I came up w/ this;

And this is a rough sketch to try to get my rear anchor posistioning across.

I am going w/ my inner slug idea, it will substancially increase
shear strength. Additionally a gusset will add a LOT of volumn
to the unit. Were good here.

surface-welds-pluged-2.jpg

I own three welders but were going to hire a professional to
weld it all up. You will remark at the weld quality when it is done.
Greg Sexton of Sexton welding in Ontario, Ca is an insanly good,
off the chain GREAT welder. You shall see.
Parts ready to go to welder;

That looks like a very good plan, you did a nice job fabricating the bracket! Did you find the paint that you need for it? Are you going to leave the canopy in place, and built around it? Anyways, its looks like you have a good design, and good auto cad drawings to represent the project!
