BX25 Winch

Gents has anyone utilized the 4 front bolts up front that hold the engine guard in place for a winch? It looks like it is screaming for a winch. I see lots of pics of guys stuck...I want out and fast. I get my new BX25 in about 3 hours...I'll have a better look at it then. Has anyone done this?
I see a posible way using a 2" receiver as well with a removable winch cradle.
In the past I have winched backwards by simply wrapping the cable under the undercarriage. I think I will look into a specific sheeve to support the cable off the undercarriage if I do this...should work.
OH! If you have a winch what flavor did you go with? PICS!

Never thought about one on my tractor but it sure makes sense. My atv has a Promark 2500 with the syn rope from here:

Definately less $ and as good as a warn (IMO). Not sure if I'd go with the syn rope if I had it to do over. Harbor freight has some very inexpensive ones. Not sure about the quality/durability but the price is so cheap I'd probably strongly consider them.

Never needed a winch. Unless I am mowing the FEL and BH are on so I use those to get myself out. If I'm in such a bad spot that that wont work then same on me.

I am thinking that if I get stuck, if the tractor weighs about 3000lbs w/ me on it, then a 3000lb winch would be a minimum rated unit for it. Of corse if you use pulleys you double that but you loose cable lenght etc. If, or I should say "when" I get a winch, I am thinking in the 5000lb range and be cool w/ it. I am impatiently waiting for my new BX25, should arrive any minute, then I get to pour over it looking at how tough that frame is up there...

I believe in another thread I saw a guy mention a Ramsey Honcho 5000, it has a bolt pattern of 4.5" x 4". Fun stuff, I can use AutoCAD and I have a guy that will Water Jet cut parts for me so some cool stuff is gonna happen!:tractor:

When I get stuck... I always need to winch from the back and use a chain fall... very heavy to lug or a light weight come-along... it doesn't take much to get unstuck.

The industrial tires are near worthless in mud... even a few inches on an incline in my adobe soil.

Congrat's on the new BX25. No advice on a winch; don't have one but thinking about it for pulling downed trees out. Just want to advise to check the front axle oil level often the first month or so. They all drop down from the factor fill as tractor gets used and the oil works into all the gears, etc. Kubota ships them with SUDT in the front axle. Don't forget pic's once it's home.

I have always been able to get myself un-stuck with the backhoe and front loader only once when plowing snow did I need assistance from the neighbors skid steer and that was before I had chains and a better rear counter weight. Might be over thinking the "getting stuck often" idea.

I've been doing a lot of hillside trail work... just take my time.

The ONLY flat areas of my property are ones I made...

I seem to get stuck every year once... mostly impatience and wanting to get going on a project when the ground conditions are less than optimal.

Only one time was I stuck in a bad way... I was working too close to the bank of deep creek when the tractor started sliding head first down the slope. The loader ended up on the opposite side and the backhoe anchoring the tractor on this side... the front wheels where at least 3 feet above the water blowing in the breeze...

Used some planks and the chain fall anchored to a big old oak... no way to get a regular size vehicle anywhere near.

A winch set up to pull from the back would have been ideal!

These guys have a reverse winching system that would be easy to duplicate.

A winch mounted done low on the front would work in both directiions. Unfortunately winches are like insurance. When you really need it ...
