Wow. We got 55mm of rain this week alone. That being said its very unusual to get that much rain in a short period of time. Yesterday and today was just like mid summer with all sunshine and warm temps but its almost over :(

I think led lighting is the greatest invention since the wheel. Glad you found the same results as well as me. It's a great trade off for sure. The last few weeks being busy for me at work and the generator shelter project I found myself having to mow the grass in the dark because the sun goes down so early so last night I had a couple of extra 4" led work lights so I put them on the ZTR. Now if I have to mow I will at least see where I'm mowing :D

This is cool! I plan to do the same. Did you add a switch to control the lights? I'm curious what you used. Nice lights. Are these also Cree?

They were two lights I had left over from the 5740's lighting project I did on the Alley lights. I also had a relayed harness that has its own dedicated switch. When the ign is on the small green LED light is also on in the switch. When you turn the switch on the lights come on and the switch light turns to grean. Nice set up and it's nice to see in the dark now.Yes they are Cree.

Paul, you and Kathy are such perfectionists I wonder if opposites really attract in your case. You both do beautiful work. Thank you both for your posts.

Thank you very much wwinter. Both Kathy and I really appreciated that. It sure made her smile when you included her. I don't think in this case we're opposites. Been with the lady for 32 years and been working side by side with her for 18 and even to this day we still look forward to the next day.
All our customers call her "Boss" but like I tell them, I'm the boss when she's not here

Thanks again. It really made our day.

Well back home from a business trip and of course we lost power for the first time this season while I was gone. A little early and I had not hooked back up the gen to the mechanical interlock after using it to power the tile saw for the retaining wall. Wouldn't you know it, I left my wife in the dark. I was feeling very bad. I still need to build that dedicated shelter. Thanks for the incentive.

LEDs... yep. Awesome. I run them to light my saltwater reef tank. 2 x 160w and they are blinding. Efficiency of LED's is impressive. Notice how almost no heat is generated. Almost all energy is in the form of light.

Now I ask, which do I do first. Emergency heat and light for the house... or additional LED lights for the BX?

Welcome back. Hope your trip went well. As for your question. Well if the power goes out in the house you can crawl under a blanket but you can't operate that Bx in the dark

Here you go Papaperk. Here's a few photos for you. (no one else look) :D

Today is a brand new mod starting on the bucket of the 5740. I better get at it. Have a safe day everyone. :cool2:

Thanks for the pics Paul! Harness looks like it simplifies install. I'm thinking about mounting 4 lights on my future zero turn. Should look like a combine at night! Hah!

Your welcome sir. I wish I had taken a photo of the harness before the install but I had a little to much to do that day. We has company here at the shop and they wanted to see everything I was doing and I never got to my camera.
The harness was only $19. It comes with all that's needed including the relay, fuse holder, switch with two small led lights within the switch. Very easy hook up. One ground, one positive battery and I positive to ignition. All that's left to do is plug in the lights.
Very nice indeed :)

I found one on FleeBay like the one I used.
