I had a mishap with my snowblower today. There was a piece of a 2x4 under the snow and I hit it with the blower. It sheared the bolt in the auger fan, but also bent one of the fan blades slightly and caused the chain to blow apart. I straigtened the fan blade and everything appears to turn okay by hand, however I was looking at how to replace the chain and wasn't sure. Does the chain have to be wrapped around the 2 gears and then the master link installed or can it be installed as a complete chain? If the master link has to be assembled in place, is there a special tool needed for this? Can these chains be made at a chainsaw dealer or do they have to be the Kubota chain? We've gotten 5' of snow since Saturday night and is still coming down. Please help.
