Obviously a tiller and 3pt mower does not care what size tractor pulls it

Oh yes they do!!!!!

I think I know what you meant but if these are pto driven it's really important to match
the demands of the implement to the tractor. You are a low hp Class 1; you can't go buy a 2000 pound tiller and try to pick it
up much less run it. I'm exaggerating to make a point. All implements have an operating hp range, minimum needed to maximum allowed.
Usually you can go a little higher or lower with care.
So you need to watch your specs carefully.

Handloader, if you get some model numbers you are interested in, check in: http://www.tractorhouse.com/list/list.aspx?ETID=1&catid=1129&Manu=&NoSearch=1

you might even find a nice used implement locally, particularly a mower, where someone went up a size, or even sometimes a special order that never went through.
All kinds of new and used equipment comes up there, particularly if a mower has been sitting on a lot too long.

Daugen, they do care, but what I meant and should have said, was that it appears that they won't be discounting items that can be used with several different size tractors. Obviously the tractor has to be large enough to pull and have enough pto HP to work with the implement.
I've been looking for a good used mower and tiller, but mainly see junk. But it is early to see mowers..

WOW..what a forum thread. So many different topics. I have a couple Cabelas items that I really like. A wool hunting coat, that is my work coat for my land. Good, rugged, warm, well made coat. Another coat that I wear to the office. Again, wool, smart looking and very warm. I thought the Kuiu hunting clothes looked nice, maybe a bit overpriced and maybe not. I think my Under Armour stuff was in that range, although I didn't buy any until my wife gave me a set for my birthday. Ive worn everything from military surplus to custom fit wool hunting clothes. IT all has it's place, and I still have my BDU's from 15 years ago. My first hunting rifle was an SKS that I paid 150 for. Never killed anything with it but time. I have a couple rifles now and none of them are custom but they have brought home a lot of meat. Dinner tonight was venison burgers. I was offered a handmade German hunting rifle about 7 years ago. My late wife's aunt was getting rid of a safe full of her husbands rifles because she was selling the property where he kept them. I was very honored to receive the offer but I turned it down. I suggested she sell it, because knew it had a market value over 10 grand. the scope that sat on top of it was probably a couple grand just by itself. I think I hurt her feelings. She was well off. Her husband had been very successful and left her well provided for, but I had seen her family members parade thru every time they wanted something from her and it seemed offensive to me. Don't get me wrong, I wanted that rifle....the part of me that wants a bad a55 muscle car...but it just didn't seem like the right move. Someday I might take a hunt that requires more gun than my 30-06 or my .270...but so far those generic rifles with my generic federal bullets have filled the freezer.

The deal on the cabbalas tracter looked pretty good and if TYM tractors are good ( I have not seen one in person) then it is a good deal. The tractors at Northern Tool are priced almost 7 grand less than I paid for an equivalent Kioti....I'm happy with what I got but that is a lot of money.I have some Chinese stuff that I like...some is crap. I bet most of the MacBook Pro I'm typing on right now came from China. I like to find old american handtools and wood working tools to add to my shop, when I can.

Northern Tools is selling tractors? Free shipping? Keep the box in case you need to return it? :D

I think I'd choose a rustoleum restored 8N before I threw the dice on a new NT tractor.

Oh sure it doesn't have green purdy paint, but how much is some green purdy paint worth? Apparently not much to a lot of folks.

The JD guys love and pay well for that "purdy green paint", or so it seems.

When I owned a Radio Shack franchise in my small home town in Pennsylvania, I quickly learned that I needed to keep bringing in new items to maintain
loyal customer interest. The same way Harbor Freight does, it creates interest, they hope buyer excitement and keeps your loyal locals coming back. In my case, they came often just to see what was new. I did my best to make the store entertaining in a small way. Basically I owned an adult toy store, which to most of us in this forum, is sort of what TSC and Harbor Freight is, you go in there and always come out with more than you intended.

Now buying tractors is hardly an impulse item. For most of us who aren't mechanics, local service is critical. In my store everyone knew that if anything broke, they could bring it back to me and I'd take responsibility for everything under warranty getting fixed. That mean shipping things out and driving them around, but that's what you did in small towns. Now what if the local Cabela's had a first class service dept that knew how to work on boats and had done a great job on my boat. Would I consider them for a tractor? I bet that's what they were hoping.

All companies are driven to increase sales. I give Cabela's credit for trying and for picking a quality tractor to represent.
Too bad they didn't get it right. Without protected territories where the oem could not go, seems hard to compete against "yourself".

I try to be open minded about tractor brands in general and have owned several brands in the past. It does get a little tiresome to hear to hear so many posters here who are down on Deere for what ever reason. I think all the current popular brands are building very good tractors today. I have all Deere because they are the best represented in my locale. For me to access other brands would add at least an additional 2 hours of travel time each way, that makes it easy to understand why I chose Deere. I have also had good luck over the years with green paint too, that also helps to make a choice. I have had good service from Deere over the last 40 years and am not afraid of being chastised here because I like Deere products.

In the last few years I see a double standard being applied on TBN. It is okay for a poster to knock Deere products. It is not okay for a Deere owner to question any other brand. So I have noticed that quite a few Deere owners have switched to other forums to avoid this bull crap. I would prefer that everyone remain open minded and consider all brands.

Before I moved to NC I had a simply outstanding Kubota dealer half an hour from my home. The John Deere dealer was twice as far away
and didn't seem interested in my business. Didn't even return phone calls at times.
So even if I liked the 4720 slightly better, I am 100% satisfied with my decision to get a Kubota because the dealer experience was simply so good.
They were friendly, competent, and charged fairly. Once you get satisfaction like that, who would want to leave? Jenkinsph sure didn't nor would I.

Now that I am in NC, I lucked out again by having an excellent Kubota dealership in my small town. But when I went to buy a lawn mower, Kubota does not make a steering wheeled diesel lawnmower in the prosumer range, only commercial grade. And like Jenkinsph who has two of them, my JD Yanmar sourced garden tractor is really excellent. It's a matter of finding the right tool with hopefully friendly local service. The color is almost irrelevant. I own red Gravely and yellow Cub Cadet too...

We all need to keep our sense of humor and do the best with what we've got, whatever it is. We're all here to learn and have fun anyway. I used to own a brilliant blue Ford garden tractor once. My first hydrostatic. That was a nice color too...;)

Now was Cabela's British Racing Green? Maybe they should be marketing them in England...
