Hello, this is my first post but I use the forum often for info on my cub and case 830 tractors. I need some advise on what kind of transplanter would be best for me. I will be planting a few acres of mixed vegetables from cell trays as well as bare root strawberries. I will be pulling the transplanter with a Case 830 CK. Looking for a 1 row unit. In-row spacing varies between 9 and 24 inches.
-I like the carousel transplanter because it requires only one worker per row to operate, but will it work on bare root strawberries? Has anyone tried? This works great for me as I can get my wife or Dad to help plant and not have to hire anyone.
-The pocket type will work for both cells and bare root, but requires two workers per row so I would have to hire someone. Also is slower than the carousel. Has anyone used this successfully with only one operator on a gear tractor (around 1-1.5 mph ground speed)?
Thanks
