carrying chains, saws, gas, commonly used tools without a bucket?

When I’m working in the woods, I carry everything out to my site in my smooth bucket. My ropes, saws, pulleys, gas cans etc. and drop smooth bucket with all that i need at the site then return and grab grappler bucket, return and get to work. I also have a 250 foot rope that I’ve installed on a hose reel basket that I use as well. It works really well for me. Keeps the rope dry and off the ground and I only have to dispense as much as I need as I use it, I can carry in the bucket of the machine and then tie off to the machine. When i get done using it, I just wind it back up in the caddy.

Interesting idea on rope container, Tchamp. The old atv tire I use has a coil of 120’ of 3/8” wire rope. I cut the bead off one side and couple of holesaw drain hole thru tread. Easy to transport, deploy and store.

One thing I notice is that I go through a lot of thick brush/vegitation. If I were to mount anything on the sides of the engine cover, they'd get ripped off eventually. I had a fire extinguisher mounted to the top of the engine compartment directly behind the operator seat, and even that got ripped off.
So if you do mount something like a chainsaw scabbard to the side or top of the engine compartment, make sure you are aware of it and how far it sticks out/up. It's easy to forget and run a wheel under a branch yet hit the side of the machine.
Of course, about everyone can tell you to carry stuff in the bucket. I do. That's great. Until you forget there's tools in the bucket and end up burying your saw or chains in a pile of dirt!

Yes, I've accidentally dumped tools more times than I care to admit.
The side scraping on Power-Tracs seems to be a common theme, and contributes to why I haven't put anything on the sides of mine. I may do a roof rack for long handled tools.

I was hoping that side scraping wouldn't be so much of an issue as long as I kept the tool mounts inside the width of the tire tracks?
Mounting tools on top of the engine cover seems to be a choice between adding more weight to an already not to easy to lift cover and also avoiding drilling into the top mounted oil cooler.
Have considered adding a rear mounted tool carrier, but am afraid I'd back into something with it.
If I were to mount something on the front frame, at least I could keep an eye on it if I can figure out a location.

Do like a 4post ROPS. And the loaders on mine aren’t meant to be removable which helps. Never removed the loaders from my ag tractors either.

I can tell you that I regret mounting a 10lb dry chemical extinguisher at the front of the engine cowling. It adds a noticeable amount to the lift weight of the cowling. However, even there it has been brushed loose a handful of times, though never off, which is why I haven't moved it to the rear.
I think that the challenge with Power-tracs is that they are so good at getting anywhere that we do tend to take them everywhere, or at least I try to.

Be sure to use an appropriate mount to carry a fire extinguisher on a tractor. Attached with the square U-bolts to ROPS. From Amazon.
