The Kubota ROPS are particularly obnoxious, using 5/8 fine thread bolts to hold it in the raised position. Mine USED to have threads on the welded nuts that the bolts go through, but they seem to have disappeared somehow. Must be wear and tear I guess..;) the spring pins still hold the bolts in place, so it's safe enough anyway.

Takes me about 15 seconds to raise and lower the ROPS now, nice in the winter with cold wet hands.

Sean

Steel termites ate your threads? Hmmm. I was thinking that might be an option the other day while twisting, twisting, twisting those bolts.

My brother runs around with his rollbar down most of the time so I'm not gonna condemn that. I think he's got a great saw holder, utilizing the space he had available and his building skills.

I never put mine down so I had more latitude in building a saw holder. Also pictured is my cooler holder. When I start cutting wood I'll spend all day in the timber and drink all the water/gatorade this little cooler will hold. I'm a metal guy so they are both built from metal I had laying around.

In putting on that shelf for my toolbox, chain box, and battery, I wound up with a small void that just fits the stainless water bottle I carry in my disc golf bag. I like my water at room temp, like my ale.

This morning I finished up a remnant of this week's mowing and dropped off the grooming mower for the box blade, winch, and splitter combo. I don't carry the saw when I'm mowing, so I stuck it back in its scabbard. I had left a trailer of split wood by my neighbor's shed, so I went and grabbed that when we'd gotten it stacked and headed out for my afternoon of splitting. A few hours later I took another trailer of spit wood back there and in that time, an alder tree had just decided to fall across his drive. Good thing I had a saw on me. I'll yard that one out in the morning, since it's volunteering.

Short Game,

A short piece of webbing through the front handle of the saw and buckled back to itself would keep those tree limbs from stealing that nice Husky.

Matt.

My rops pulls off, the bolts are metric, and must be fitted into a bar with the nuts welded on..Takes three hands or a punch to keep itall in place. they did not mean for it to be easy to remove..."Why you want remove ROPS?"??

Thanks Matt, but I think I'm decided. Too much plastic on the saw waiting to get busted. I have too many things to keep an eye on when I'm mowing, and some substantial limbs that I dance with. When I'm firewooding (like I've been doing today) I don't often find myself in those situations. I've been bucking alder and wild cherry trees that have been down since late winter to 12'6" and moving them on the log forks to the wood yard (a.k.a., a shady spot). It's been some tricky snaking today, getting those logs out.

SCHWEET Scabbard!

How did you attach it to the ROPS?
I've been told not to drill holes in the ROPS...

Thanks in advance,
David
