I get a kick how GM made fun of Ford 5 years ago with the "Man Step" but now they have one. They sure as heck will not advertise that.

It always just seems to me they are a model change or two behind the competition watching what works and doesn't then bringing it into production.

Always a follower and never a leader.

Sorry but Chevy had the corner bumper step in 2002 on the Avalanche so looks like Ford was the follower in that area.

Weight-GM. Power-GM. Fuel economy-GM. Handling-GM. Warranty-GM. Comfort-GM. Corrosion resistance-GM. Assistance after warranty-GM.

Take off the Ford colored glasses. I don't have a dog in the fight, but F-series trucks aren't the leader in everything.

Guess the Cummins engines are way behind too because they don't use HEUI,oi twin turbos, aluminum heads or CP4 pumps.

I will give GM weight but comfort? NO. Maybe ride but never comfort. Corrosion is a toss up. Dodge rust the quickest but I see lots of GM trucks with no cab corners.

I don't have Ford color glasses, just call it how I see it. My current fleet isva 06 Ford, a 07 BMW, and a 08 Nissan.

Cummins is legendary. I will never argue that. Just dont care for the truck its wrapped in. Thats all about to change though for the good.

I agree. If they were gold plated and 1/2 the cost I could never stoop so low as to own another GM product. Not to mention I have had 4 which 2 of were absolute junk. Not a very good showing.

You are right, I stand corrected. What a awful ugly POS the Avalanche was. They must have borrowed the design team that worked over at Pontiac for that one. 1/2 plastic and make it look like a space ship. The Pontiacs of that time area were just as bad. The Aztek, Vibe, and Transport just to name a few of that time era.

None of them are easily rebuildable.

this. seems to me that all of these vehicles are disposable. i don't see how any of these computer-controlled vehicles are going to be running in 30 years or so when you can't find any working sensors or computers.

I'm all for safety and fuel economy, but not for the sake of making everything useless once supplies of wiring harnesses and whatnot dry up.

and this. pete clausen has an interesting thread about the 43 year old dump truck he is currently operating. what do you think the chances are of any of the current trucks being useful in 2057 for basically pocket change?

CR should stick to toasters, that's about all they know. I'm sorry but no test should include personal feelings about the interior. That's like saying that Chevy scored more points that Ram because of the color of the paint. Things like design, interior, paint, all that is strictly a subjective taste of each customer.
