On farm tractors, it is widely known that a chromed stack will add at least 10 hp.

Yep, staring and admiring that stack does save fuel

I was looking into putting the vertical exhaust on my 3120 and I wondered if anyone put the elbow on, drilled the hole then put a chrome stack on instead of the black JD one. I was thinking a stock slip on off a Harley or metric bike would work as long as it didn't have baffles. Anyone do this yet? Pics if you have? I wonder if JD will just sell the elbow and the black ring for the hood?

You can likely buy the elbow and gasket as parts.
