Great action shot! Can you tell us more? Are you milling? How do those saw logs handle? What kinda ballast?

Ol' RaT is quite a StanD Up GuY! We'd let him in our club, just to add a little color! (wouldn't we?)

Yes I am milling. I have a Woodmizer LT15 which I bought
in march 2002. I used to have a 790 which I bought in 1999.
At the time I bought the 790 I wasn't planning on having a woodmizer. After struggling to wrestle logs around the
summer of 2002 I bought the 4310 this spring. I am glad that I did. The 4310 is the correct match for the LT15. If I had
bigger logs the LT15 couldn't saw them. 28 inch max diameter.
I don't have any trouble moving them around. I have
The JD ballast box filled with sand and 4 - 70 pound front
weights since I can't use them with the loader attached.
I also have two 60 pound weights on each wheel.
So all in all approximately 1000 pounds ballast. It works
fine for me and I am having lots of fun since this is just a hobby. I also have the 59 inch front snowblower. Long driveway about 1200 feet.

Concerning RaT being ratified into the club,

Maybe we should just have an online vote to let him in or not.

I would vote to let RaT in on the 4310 club here on the board. I just hope nobody tells him the secret password to get through the gate at club meetings.

RaT in Club-----> Yes__X__ No____

P.S. I vote for 5030 too in advance....Kyle

This pic is part of my RaT endorsement: he whined for more... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I dunno about 5030, he has a cab, and I found out he is a closet green owner... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, another backhoe owner... TBN must have the highest ratio of backhoe owners. I get the feeling they rally aren't that common...

How's the 6' blade and rake work for you? Do they angle? Would bigger be better?

I would like to submit my application for membership to your fine organization. Today I took delivery of my JD4310 4WD with ePowerReverser, R4's and 430 loader. She is now nestled in my barn with a blanky on her hood.

Congrats you guys, welcome to the club/forum.

Rockyridge, have you taken a head count recently? What are you doing with all that dues money???

Wow, Kyle, I never would have guessed we'd be counting Pepper in our ranks...

I feel sorry for new folks who actually read through this bodacious thread!

As for the money, well, it wouldn't buy much, there in the RepublicofTexas...

Here is the picture of baby. I would like to enter myself in the "I decided to buy a new tractor and made up my mind and bought the quickest" category. I decided that I would buy a new tractor on November 13th and signed on the dotted line November 24th and picked it up the 25th.

Happy Thanksgiving all. Rockyridgefarm, If it dries out enough today I will go out and get a picture of the entire barn. I built it about 4 years ago. It houses tractor, goats, hay, and anything else I can think of.

Well, like every power move, there are issues. I learned that you cut the roots on two sides, and check the tree. It came toppling down, just missing me and my 4310. (The tree I was felling had been topped, and was pretty small) It did do a great job of pulling the roots out. I know what to watch for, so that both the tractor and I stay safe. Especially the tractor...

Brent,
That green is sure pretty !!!
Welcome to the land of 4310 owners.
Be careful, cause I've got a bad case of green fever
and the only cure is to buy more attachments and
accessories

I'm still trying to figure out whats worse???
Green fever or addiction to this forum.
One costs lots of money the other lots of time.
Who said time is money???

Sorry for the late reply. I like the blade and rake very much. I use the rake much more than the blade to maintain my long gravel driveway. The size is perfect, especially to get through the pasture gates. It also does a great job of getting the rocks in my pastures into piles so I can remove them. It seems I grow rocks. The backhoe is invaluable, I am sure glad I got it, I actully use it more that I thought I would. I am suprised that more people do not have them. Dan

Dan,
My wife's not gonna like this... There you go tempting
me to get a backhoe for my 4310. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Thanks,
Perry
