All manufacturers have problems created by outside vendors going the cheap route.

Do ALL manufacturers have problems? Yes. See comment below about humans.
Do ALL manufacturers have problems caused by outside vendors? I don't know who or what causes their problems.
Do ALL manufacturers have problems caused by outside vendors going the cheap route? I don't know what causes the problems and unless someone on TBN actually works for the manufacturer, specifically in their quality control/warranty area, no one on TBN does.

While computers are used to design many things, it is still the human behind the keyboard who enters the information.

A part, like a frame, can be designed correctly, made correctly, and still fail in the field. Maybe it was not tested correctly or in the right environment. Who knows why.

56K? Get back with us when you pass the 100k mark. That is MY standard.

Listen, every vehicle I have owned I expect to take back to the dealer at least once for something trivial. Brakes squeaking, loose trim, etc. I took my '12 back due to a rough idle (which, BTW, they DID NOT fix). I do not consider a major radiator failure in 25K to be reliable. What if the failure occurred while you were pulling a case 580 backhoe down the interstate and you overheated the engine and blew the motor?

I stand by my OPINION that the 6.4 is a problem child engine and that for Diamond Pilot to repeatedly take up for it is B.S. especially when he is fast to pound on other brands. Again, I personally own/operate 2 Ford Trucks.

Mine has 56k. The engine has been absolutely reliable. The cooling system had an issue that was resolved with one trip to the dealer. I realize that vehicles have occasional issues, and nothing mechanical is perfect. For me, with one trip to the dealer in the 4 years and 30k+ miles I have put on the truck, that's reliable IMO.

If you are one of those that expects absolutely zero trips to the dealer and expects it to be perfect, then no, my truck has not been reliable. If you are like me and realize that, sometimes, mechanical things break, then my truck has been reliable. Other than oil changes, I have been without my truck for about 4 hours in 4 years. That means I have had my truck available for 99.99% of the time. What is not reliable about that?

A 4 hour fix that didn't leave me stranded is not a major failure in my mind. Is it a major component of the truck? Yes. Was I able to drive it just fine until I could get it in for service? Yes. Heck, I even got a loaner to run my errands when it was in the shop, so it's not like I was really out of a vehicle that long.

Maybe I'm just more open minded and flexible. Maybe you would feel the same way I do if it was your truck. I don't know.

Outrageous standards...no issues in 100k. Gotcha.

Then I would have blamed myself for not noticing that the coolant was getting low and stopping before I blew the engine.

Have the radiator leaks caused the radiator to blow up and lose all coolant immediately? No. They leak over time. My was a slow leak that leaked for a couple weeks before I had a chance to take it in. In that period of time it still had plenty in the overflow reservoir. That's how most failures have been, not like losing a radiator hose and dumping all the coolant without sufficient time to pull over.

My standard is 100k with no MAJOR issues. Radiator failure would qualify to me as major.

BTW: Seeing as how it went out at 26K looks like you're due for a new one any day. I wonder how you'll feel when it has to be replaced on your dime.

There are some really knowledgeable members on TBN, Diamond Pilot being one of them, that have strong feelings on certain topics. If one feels differently, if might be worthwhile to gloss over certain comments by those members if it does not line up with one's thoughts or style preference.

My 2007 F250 has 63k miles and about the only thing I have had happen is a burnt out tail light bulb. Stupid POS! Can't believe it.

You probably let the blinker fluid get too low.

Tell them to go to the motor vehicles and find out the original owners and give them a call , see what they have to say .

Or did not let the electrons drain out of the wires if not driven on cold days.
