Agreed! It's much better to control your product when it is developed in-house.
My guess is in the next 10 Years Ram will part ways with Cummins and use an in house Fiat engine. This will only leave GM running an outsourced engine from Isuzu.

If Ram knows what is good for them, they won't part ways with Cummins. They will lose a ton of sales. How many guys have you asked what they drive and they say 'a Cummins'. It's not a Ram with a Cummins, it's a Cummins!
As far as GM goes, the Durmax was first sourced from Isuzu, but over the years, that has transitioned over to GM and is now largely developed and produced by GM.
