Core drilling--anybody do that?

I had to remove 2" galvanized pipe post from my concrete dog pen after a big oak tree fell and crushed them, they were about 2' deep into the dirt and surrounded by 4" thick concrete, I used a Hilti concrete hammer drill with a 13/16th's bit and drilled about a half dozen holes around the pole, hit it a few good times with a sledge hammer to loosen it up and pulled it right out, did this on 4 post and re-installed new post and patched with sack-rete. I believe what the OP wants to do is totally a DIY project.
