Folks, I have been a long time lurker on this forum but rarely post. I searched this question but didn't quite find exactly what I'm looking for. Here is my question: I have a 2000ish Kubota L4310 that is leaking hydo fluid from the condensation weep hole. It's not too bad, I just add a gallon of Hydro fluid every 6 months or so. That being said I don't expect it to get better. Can you help me with a ballpark if I bring it to the man? The internet tells me this is a leaky seal and you need to split the tractor to get to it. The tractor has no cab. Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in the answers too, but I don't have one. I have a 1999 L3710, I'm guessing basically the same tractor. Out of curiosity, how many hours are on your L4310?

I would think a good dealer would have a book number for that job.

Are there "Flat Rate Manuals" for tractors like there are for cars and trucks? Would be good to know.

Mine has low hours for its age, 800 hours give or take a few.

My cabbed L4240 was "done" twice, first time it wasn't done correctly(dealer ate that one)
never got a bill(asked twice) for the real fix.
Note:it won't get better with time.
I would guess $2k on an open station;must be split to repair.

Call your dealer and they will give you an estimate on hours and cost

I would call around. The dealer isn't always the best place to go. The dealer in my neck of the woods wants $5,000 to $6,000 CAN to do the job on an MX4700 open station. In my opinion that is way too much money for that job.

Just my 2 cents.

A few years ago I split a B7500 that had a bad motor. Im fairly mechanically inclined but had never done this type of thing before. I did it by myself in my garage.. I have a very well equipped garage.. so tools were all available when needed.
What I learned fairly quickly is that the bolts you don't think you need to remove.. you do.... Every single one of them.
It was not particularly hard to do.. Just took time to unbolt everything..and take pictures as you go so you can remember where things went and what held them there.
I went full throttle for a couple days pulling it apart.. Spent lots of time looking at stuff trying to figure out how it was attached and in what order it has to come apart.
Then a few days to put it all back together .. Had absolutely no extra pieces when i was finished which is good.
I would imagine your machine may be a bit easier because its bigger and there is more room to get your hands in places to get at bolts.. But the weight of the pieces may take a few more hands to move around.

If you have a front end loader on the tractor I recommend you take it off for the repair for workshop space reasons.
