Yeah we are getting ready to build a barn too. There will be a 12 ga in the barn at all times too. Once we have the horses hear I am actually more worried about trespassers than I am about varmints. People assume because there is a horse barn there is valuable stuff in the barn.

There is valuable stuff in the barn... tractors and shotguns!

There are about ZERO non-human predators in Indiana capable of harming humans(very few venomous snakes, too). I'd be way more worried about brown recluse spiders, disease from mouse droppings, or allergy to bee stings than anything else. I'd also spend some cash on lightning rods before cougar protection. ;)

You can't live you life worring about cougar. I live up north Wi
and have not seen a wolf or a track. I think there only a threat if you come face to face.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty. :) maybe some states are thinking about importing them.

In my opinion we don't need imported cougars, we need more people out deer hunting, and longer more generous deer seasons.

Got deer? Cougars could help control herds, study says | Fox News
That's interesting...I know a lot of Missouri hunters that travel north to hunt here! Now it might have something to do with the hospitality they encounter...my friend does the cooking, I provide the entertainment.
