It even gets better when you have a milk cow that gives about 7 gallon / day and all excess goes to the hogs.:licking:

My BIL butchered his 2nd pig this morning. It didn't get milk, but got lots of table scraps. I'm at work today, so I couldn't help, but I did contribute my B1750 with lift-pole and about five ice chest of ice. I got some sausage from the 1st pig, and will get a roast from this one.

Speaking of the BIL, they start grinding cane today at his home place down in Kinard. They will be grinding four days this year. Most years they give a 1/4 of their juice to the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement here in Blountstown, but they have so much juice donated they make more syrup than they can sell. They both {the BIL and the PPS} use wood fired burners to make their syrup. One night there is going to be bluegrass band playing while they make syrup. I would like to get down there but I'm working every night this week.

Trying to get up close to a Blue Heron and this pelican came into the picture. Couldn't get a good picture of the Heron.

We have a blue heron that hangs out on our pond. The pond is about 100-150 yards away. If he hears the door open, or a car coming down the driveway, he is leaving. Hard to get close to that booger. I have seen blue herons at the fish cleaning stations that are almost tame, waiting for scraps.
Pelicans are cool.

No Pictures. 1 My camera quit working & some of this happens so quickly it would not help.

2 Things that my dogs are alerting on outside the fence.
Finally saw the coyote, just a quick flash as it went through the brush.
Big jack rabbit comes by in the same place as the coyote, seen it a couple of times.

Quail come in groups of 29 / 30 to feed. Have at least 3 humming birds, but am pretty sure there are at least 4.

While sitting outside 1 night a bat flew by just inches from my face.

Perseverance pays off. Got my heron shot. Wish I was closer, but a guess thats what the crop function is for. I cropped the picture to look as it does.
