Damaged Fender

lent tractor to brother in law, came back with mangled fender, other than the obvious (dont lend toys to brother in law) am at loss what to do.....seems too much damage to repair, probably need to be replaced. what could i expect to pay to replace it? thanks for your help. appreciate all the great info i get here. brian.

I have no idea what it might cost, BrianD, but maybe someone else might if they knew which tractor you have. Your profile doesn't show it. And of course, there may be a difference in price depending on whether it's the right or left fender.

My neighbor had his father in laws kubota last year and his wife ran into it with the pickup. He took it down to the dealer here to fix and his bill with labor and the fender was $692. Only reason I know is because he didn't have a trailer to fix it and wanted to have it fixed before his father-in-law came to get it and I hauled it down there for him and picked it up. It was an L4310.

Parts price on the fender kit (includes the safety labels) is just under $650. Left hand fenders are all the same but right hand fenders are slightly different depending on if you have the HST, gear, or GST transmission. Prices are all the same, just a difference of part numbers.

My thoughts,exactly!!! I would let HIS insurance company worry about it.I let our neighbor borrow our B2150 once,it came back with a major league,down to metal, scratch all the way across the hood.He said he was sorry and that he would try to fix it.I said,no problem I'll take care of it.I took the hood off and took it to the body shop.Week later I sent the bill to my neighbor,you know he hasn't ask to borrow anything since.

I do hope he intends to make it right w/you one way or another.

Getting a fender from your dealer also maybe a long wait,and like most parts $$$ even when comes to tractors.

This is simple, he pays whatever the cost may be PERIOD. Sure it was an accident, if he had rented from a rental yard (which is what he should have done) he would have to pay for the damage. Rental insurance is very exact on what is covered and it covers very little even when it is an accident. Its a tough situation, I only hope he's as obliging to pay as he was to borrow. Rat...

Exactly, exactly, do yourself and a friend a favor, do it yourself, or at least be there and be the judge of what, when, where, and how to do it. Its one thing to destroy your own stuff, quite another when someone else does it for you. Rat...
