I see a few of these for sale in my area. I have a Kubota l35 and some brushy field to clear. Blackberries, small 1-2" saplings. Will I be unhappy with the lx5? Just wondering if it is tough enough.

I would think anything over 1" may be a bit much for a light duty mower. Hopefully others here with the same deck will chime in.

I think a LX series would be too light a unit for 2" saplings; find a MX series definately will demolish 2" hardwood saplings without even stressing.
Have a JD 990 with a MX6 cut down about 40 acres of 1" to 2" by 10 foot brush; but only did a 4 foot swath at a time because of the outside temperature to give the 990 a easier go last summer .
