If you are healthy to begin with, covid is not a big deal.

As I've mentioned my idiot brother in law infected our entire family. He knew he was sick, showed up anyway, removed his mask multiple times, and two hours later announced he's had a fever for the past 2 days, "but it's not COVID, it's the same thing I had last year" were his exact words. He almost killed his mom. So lets give him a pass on that one. OK. Months later he's boasting on facebook that he's not gonna ever get the vaccine. So who knows how many other people he's gonna put at risk in the future. He's a selfish idiot with ZERO concern about his family or fellow man. Does it say something about my character? Yep. Loud and clear. It also says something about his character. Loud and clear. Selfish with no concern for his fellow man. And, unfortunately, that's the way most people are coming across that take the same stance as him.

He has no valid reason not to get vaccinated. And he has no valid excuse for going out to bars and restaurants and putting other people at risk. 571,000 dead in the U.S. from COVID and climbing.

Yep, agree that you think he is an idiot. Unfortunately, you have first hand experience and I do not blame you for hating his behavior. It's not the normal behavior I've witnessed here.

Honestly, I didn't get vaccinated for my fellow man. I got vaccinated for me. Selfish? Lack of character? Who knows but it's my reality. To think that our fellow men all think alike, have the same experiences, feelings and reasonings is not realistic. To think they can be guilted into submission is futile.

My fellow man has a brain and they can make decisions on whats best for them. I don't expect them to make decisions on whats best for me. Nor will I entertain the thought of someone telling me that it's my responsibility to save others when others have the same opportunity I had to get vaccinated.

Well, 24 hours since my second Moderna shot and I think I'm feeling better. About 4 hours into it my achy joints were getting sore. Then, I started to feel like I was in a fog and my wife was pestering me so I went to bed. That was my cranky time. About 12 hours into it I had the chills and I couldn't get warm in bed. At about 3 am I was really hot and I felt like I could heat the house from my body heat. At 4 am I cooled off enough to lay on top of the covers and sleep some. I'm back to just the foggy feeling and my joints feel way better. It was not as bad as the flu but it was just weird. I would do it again because I don't want to spend time in the ICU or have Longhaulers from covid.
I'm sorry you've had a bad time. Last time I had what I thought was a cold with only a degree and a half of fever, I felt worse than I've often felt with flu. Old age I guess.

But it does kill people at random including healthy ones. They don't yet understand why that is, but I read that type a blood owners are very venerable. So the people who are asymptomatic are lucky,,, but they are still spreading it through there community. I say this is a BIG deal.

If you infect a weak person from your mild case of Covid and it kills them. It's a big deal to them and anyone who loves them.

Moss,
I wouldn't blame you and your entire family if you shunned that idiot from family gatherings for the rest of your lives.

There are plenty of healthy people with no underlying health conditions that have died from COVID.

Also, that neglects to address that healthy people still catch it and spread it.

If we shunned him, it would have been 4 decades ago. However, he's family. I'd help him out in a heart beat if he needed it. He's lovable and cares about our kids. He's just a doofus and self-centered.

I do not believe people should be encouraged to get vaccinated for the good of the population, they should do it just for themselves. The knowledge of covid is increasing every day as doctors research it. This should not be thought of as a "flu" it is a vascular disease with long term effects.

  • "Dr. William Li:
There are tens of millions of people who are COVID survivors who may be carrying this vascular damage in their bodies with them going forward. And we can't leave those people behind.
  • Stephanie Sy:
Doctor William Li is a vascular biologist, studying the 60,000-mile network of blood vessels in each of us that connects every organ in every cell in our bodies, supplying them with nutrients.
  • William Li:
We think this long hauler syndrome has a vascular component, which I study, an autoimmune component, inflammation, and also a neurological component. So, this seems to be the three legs of the stool."

The main reason I got vaccinated was so I wouldn't give it to anyone else, especially my mother in-law, as we spend a couple evenings/days a week with her. In my job, I am exposed to hundreds of people in close proximity every day. I'd not want to infect any of them either. But mostly my mother in-law and others in my family.
