( Remember: Keep as far away from the 6.0 (removed) choker as possible. If you gotta swing that way go find a 7.3, at least that one will run. My neighbor has had 3 of the 6.0's. 1st two were bought back for motor problems, third is in the shop now for another turbo. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif )
I've got a 2003 6.0 Excursion with no problems so far. They did have some issues when the engines first came out but they seem to have resolved them. I wouldn't count out any Powerstroke engine. They are quiet, smooth, economical and powerful. Last tank of fuel from a road trip to Virginia came out to 19.8 MPG.
I remember when the Cummins Dodge trucks first came out the owners I knew seemed to spend more time at the shop than on the road. Dodge worked their bugs out just like all manufacturers eventually do.
The Cummins engine is excellent, no doubt about it. I wish Dodge would develop a nice full sized SUV with a Cummins. The only complaint I have about Cummins is the noise level. You can hear 'em coming long before you see 'em!
