Wow, I just looked at this thread from the beginning, and got a nice look at the price run up. Now I'm paying 5 bucks a gallon. I hate to think of whats coming if we have a tough winter. People are going to have problems paying fuel/heating bills.

In regards to people paying. Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what other bills they have. Quite a lot of people have been hit by the housing crunch. So that will free up a lot of monies.

Too bad for them.

You know what ticks me off about the high price of fuel besides the high price of fuel?

:D

Having to swipe the credit card mulitple times to fill up the tank.

:D:D

Long story short, sorta, Friday morning fuel was 4.69. I drove into town and went past a station I used to use and he was 4.67. Went back home and the station I fill up now was 4.76. DUH!

I start to fill up. The pump turns off at $75. So get past the first $75. Get the the second $75 and I'm still not full. Try to swipe a third time and the pump won't take the card. I'm really ticked as I walking into the store. The cashier blames the card until I show her that I already have two receipts. She then says I can leave the card with her and go fill up. Leave my card with you? I try to be polite as a decline. I go outside, she follows, she is trying, and swipe one more time. No go. Says see cashier. I say see cashier to the cashier. :D

Go home and call the card company and they just verified that the card limits are set by the station.

We leave on Saturday to go on a 200 mile trip. I stop at the station on the other side of the intersection from the $75 limit station. To fill up, so I can check my milage, takes a couple of gallons.:(:D I ask the cashier, who I think owns or is related to the owner, if they have any limits on the pump....

He says yes. The pump turns off at 99 gallons. :D:D:D

This station is not as convienient as the other station but he has my fuel dollar in the future.

Regarding the high diesel price its supposed to be because the Chinese are buying up lots of fuel to run generators for the Olympics. The have placed some of the largest orders in history.

For some reason, people are also buying US ULSD and using it overseas. This is driving up the price as well.

What really gets me is how much more expensive diesel is compared to gas. Diesel has been running up to 65 cents more per gallon then 87 octane gas.

But people still pass me 10-15 mph over the speed limit so they ain't too concerned by the price of fuel.

Later,
Dan

Mine turns off at 100 on the card. I call the card company and say up my limit.

They decline.

Guess I'll never run a full tank again. Why bother? And I am not about to spend my time hunting for fuel prices or go 20 miles out of my way for another company.

That bio-d is looking and smelling that much better. Guess I better get serious.

At least now we have a morning price and an afternoon price, seems to be ten cents more by the end of the day, more days than not. I guess I am going to have to convert the Cummins to whale oil, America's first renewable resource !

Having my new 285 gal tank filled today at $4.54 per gallon for off-road, high sulfer diesel. Three weeks ago, I was quoted $3.94.....

I'm going to call them in a few weeks just to not feel as bad as I am today.

It's hard to believe that less than 5 years ago this stuff was .99 per gallon

1*Lets see some pictures of your tank set up == that sure would be nice!
2*When I got my BX23 11/8/2004 diesel was $1.98 a gal.
It was the first diesel engine I ever owned.
Wouldn't you know it the minute I got a diesel tractor the price of diesel started sky rocketing.
So I guess ya can blame me for today's hi priced diesel!
:D

Wisconsin on road ( with tax ) $4.76 per gallon. There is supposed to be 30 some cents in road tax but I noticed the off road at one station was only a couple cents difference. Gasoline is $3.98 to $4.12 ( reg. ) and they say a five dollar bill by fall.

Ya but
If theirs was lower so would b ours 2.

You really think European fuel prices have much impact on us? Didn't for the last umpteen decades.

I don't think many people will (or have a way to) change continents for a fill up.

Pat ;) ;)
