Diesel 4.15 PG today... My guess that this time next year its sub 3.00.. I remember back in 2018/2019.. Mass was pushing hard to raise the fuel tax because gas was sub 2.00 PG and it was such a great time to do it,.. because they could add .25PG and the consumer wouldn't really notice it...

Diesel is currently $2.72/gal here. Crude oil futures are showing a slight drop through the end of next year, so I don't think there will be a big drop in prices. A $10 per barrel change equates to a $0.25 per gallon change at the pump. Any change in federal policy will take longer than that to show up in the market. Since only 20% of domestic production comes from federal lands, it also has a smaller impact on price.

Several of the tree service friends are ditching diesel due to the restrictions faced… both expense for vehicles and regulation for chippers.
