I didn't realize until now that the L3830 has a 3 cyl. engine. For some reason I thought the two tractors had the same engine. Would somebody like to explain why Kubota went with a 3 cyl. ?

I see that displacement on the 4 cyl. is 113.3 inches and 111.5 on the 3 cyl. Is the L3830 a totally new engine design or just punched out bigger?

Kevin the L3830 uses basically the same engine as the L48 or L5030 with one less cylinder. It has a longer stroke and is actually slightly quieter in operation then the L3710's engine. I don't have the torque figures for the L3710 but assume they will be very close to that of the L3830's engine. It is a new engine design.
