Last month we decided to HAVE another old pond dug out but no one would even give us a price. They said it was too small but the first pond cost near $6000. So my wife and I started scraping and dragging. The dirt we dug out we put in the old pond which is about 150 foot around and up to 5 feet deep. This project took us about 50 hours combined. We use a BX2200 with a 4 foot box blade and a L2600 with a 5 foot box blade. We got the old pond filled up just before it started raining.
The new pond is only 5 foot deep now so this spring we will rent a track hoe to finish the digging. The new pond will be 150 x 200 x 8 feet deep.
Just as we finished the old pond my wife got a new BX2670 FEL and MMM so now we can load our RTV and fill in low spots around the farm.
