Do You Use A Utility Sized Driveway Scraper?

Hi, I have a similar problem, but an even smaller tractor. I have a 2630 B Kubota and need an attachment that can deal with gravel/dirt roads. My driveway is 1/2 mile long, and runs off a private (non maintained) road. I've also looked at road boss, dura grader, and various back blades. My concern is that my 26 HP tractor will bog down pulling these things. Does anyone have any advice for which attachment will work? I also have some hills, so that will be another limiting factor in how much I can pull. The road boss looks pretty neat, but I'm concerned that my tractor will not pull it, even if I only get the 4 foot model. -Pat

With a 1/2 mile road, you'll be at it all day with a 4 ft implement. Once you've gotten the road in somewhat smooth and crowned shape, I'd opt for a somewhat heavy duty landscape rake.

I built my own out of Guard rail post. Works for my short drive way. Had about 6 hours labor and $25 it it . Just made mine stright as my driveway is flat and level. Have rail Road Spikes to dig up grass then can fold out of way to finish leveling.

OldMax-- so what do you do, just loosen bolts and allow railroad spikes to swing down & rearward to contact rear "blade" when using it?

A farmer that I know, who has a large box blade as well as a road grader, uses a 10' piece of 14" I-beam connected with chains behind one of his smaller 60hp tractors for maintaining all of his roads.

I bought the 7' Grade Master Industrial and use it on a Massey 250, 38drawbar hp at 4200 lbs. I struggled with all the options of power, weight, price and looking at all the major brands. The Grade Master weighs 970 lbs & cost $1700 shiped to me. I also ordered it with the serrated blade on the front & am glade I did. The industrial is a category 2 and my tractor will accept either but come warm weather will be modified to accept cat 1. The Grade Master did not have the adjustable cutting blades or replaceable side skids, I wasn稚 willing to pay the extra $1500 dollars for the more expensive brand that had this, it also had the 24 sides. My thoughts were the blade should last about 1000 miles of grading and blades cost about $100 each, also from my experience blades don稚 wear evenly so I would just as soon replace them when they wear down. Mine has the 18 sides and works great on gravel with out loading up all the way I could see that dirt will load up a lot more than gravel & you will need to rise up at times. I did make a piece so the third arm would float or could be locked in place because the road I maintain rises 325 feet in elevation. I use mine commercially on a 1-シ mile drive that before had used a road grader like the county uses. The customer & I were very pleased with the Grade Master. It does fill potholes & you can put a crown in the road. I did another drive the other day that hasn稚 seen a grader in 10 years & it looked like you had had a truckload of gravel added. It also removes any grass that grows in the drive.
My next choice would probably have been one I looked at that was made in Madill Ok. If I rember right the 7 weighs 650 lbs at a little under $1000. & Appeared to be built well. I went with the commercial grade because that is the type of work it will be doing and I wanted the extra weight. My tractor pulls it well on drives at about 7 miles but it can pull down I just lift up a little.
I hope this is helpful information.

I ended up purchasing a 7' Utility Grade Master for $900 shipped. They were excellent to work with and produce a well built product. It is well matched for my tractor - any heavier or wider and it would bring it to a standstill. I imagine if I didn't have a hydro I could pull more. Already having TnT this does exactly what I need affirming that spending another $1500 for more features would have been personally wasted money.

Picture doesn't show but there is a lever on the back right hand side that I use to move it up and down . Thanks I know it isn't for some driveways but mine is flat and about 150 ' long it sure beats pulling grass out by hand and as you see it works quiet well at leveling also.

I'm glad you mentioned the TR3. I found the Arena Rascal a few years ago, but didn't have a place at that time. Now that we have a very long drive to maintain, I can justify it's purchase since it will do the job of many implements.
