Dodge-Nissan collaborating on Pickups?

from what i have read that is the 5.9 which will have the same demensions as the the 4.8 and 5.3. which means its possible to have something like a diesel impala or g8 or trail blazer or anything else a 5.3 gas engine will fit into.

well ya got my 07 gmc crew 4x4 vmax beat in fuel econ but id be more than happy to hook em up hitch to hitch and see who drags who across the parking lot, then we could set em up at the strip and see who gets the best time and after that we can drop drop 10k load on the ball and see who gets there first. ALL the toy air haulers talk big but ive only had one hook up with me and even with 33" tires on mine he didnt have anything for the mighty gmc v-max. truck and a half distance ahead in less than 3 blocks but he was tryin real hard, didnt want any more at the next light. lol
little red hasnt been beat by a toy yet.

I'm way past street racing;did that in the 60's and early 70's along with more than a few trips down the 1/8 and 1/4 mile asphalt ,and 300 ft. sand drags in the 80's, early 90's .The 5.7 along with the low first gear tranny and 4:30 final drive make the "Toy" plenty quick for me plus will tow my 8000+lb trailer/load without breaking a sweat

That video proves nothing. My 2WD Silverado wouldn't make it through either. The fact that the neither one of the Tundra's front wheels were spinning obviously proves that the Tundra was in 2WD. Any 4x4 pickup with a competant driver would make it through that ditch easily, as long as the driver remembered to put it in 4WD.

It was reported week-before-last that if the gas situation didn't improve that Cerebrus Group (the company that bought Chrysler from MB) might consider divesting the company due to poor sales and the resulting costs.

If Dodge and Nissan are going to be collaborating on design and production work, building a working relationship, then it might be really easy and convenient to make such a sale to Nissan.

Nissan could utilize the "Dodge" or "Ram" name for it's full-size trucks/SUVs.....add Jeep to it's line-up......combine their mini-van ops....probably incorporate the best of Chrysler's recent car offerings...trash the rest and make a very good move in the industry.

its a 4.5 now huh, hmm was rumored to be a 5.9 when i first heard about it. isuzu had a 4.8 and now a 5.2 4 banger model

i had that on my last post i thought guess for some reason it did not make it onto here. I watched gm put the ford and dodge through the same thing at the d-max launch. I will have to watch that vid i posted with the toy and the chev again to see if they are in 4x4 mode. i understood it as a 2 wheel drive thing comparing the rear diffs not as a 4x4 challenge.IF you watch the vid on the 20% grade this is all about the rear end and has nothing to do with the front diff. people dont understand the difference between a locker and posi, i cant remember seeing a 92+ chevy ever having a posi, always lockers. does the toy and tartan have a posi or locker?

i wasnt saying its not a capable truck i was just answering your 1/2 ton challenge remark. and we will have to add a little rock crawlin, mud action to the fun.

I think this video was a demostration of capability in 2WD. Both trucks had no front axle assist when they drove through the ditch.

Maybe this video would make it more clear.

If and when another manufacturer builds a 1/2 ton with a 6.7 (vis-a'-vis my 5.7 versus your 6.2) it will undoubtably fracture your V-Max, at the expense of fuel mileage; my intended objective. I want to do the most "work" for the least cost. Truce Incidentally, there is an e-mail at Toyota/California with my name on it, suggesting it was a major oversight, on their part, bringing this truck to market without a mechanically locking diff

actually my v-max is a 6.0 w/ dod, the wifes 08 denali is a 6.2 w/ a 6 speed. the 6.2/6 speed gets about 5 mpg better than mine and runs like a raped ape. When i ordered my v-max fuel mpg was not something i was conserned about at all, i was building a truck to do the max amount of work with every single option i could get. I checked gm everyday until the 07's were available to be ordered and was in the dealership that morning at 9 am to order the truck. 1st custom order on a v-max in 07 and the 1st one in town. I also had to have something asap due to the lease was up on one of the wifes cars. this is my 3rd 6.0 and they all get from 12-15 mpg, i knew this, but being in a gm service department for as many years as i have been i know you can work one for 200k plus miles everyday and the dont have any major problems.

Next year when gm hangs that 6 speed in the 1/2 tons i expect 25-30 mpg out of a 5.3 v8, in the clasic body style the v-max was a mpg deal, i saw those w/ a 4.8/ extended cab/3:43 rear end/ 2wheel drive getting 27 mpg.

back on topic, there is a red titan by my house that pulls a heck of a boat all over the place and has for at least 2 years, dont know him but he seems to not have any trouble on the hwy or the 2 lanes out by us in those tiny okie hills.
