It sounds like your governor rack is stuck open, alright. Glad you got it shut down in time!

You could try draining the lube out of the injector pump and refilling it with kerosene, let it sit overnight and then drain the kero out and refill with oil and see if that frees up the governor. You MAY be able to open the governor side and check it out, I don't know. Bob Rooks can probably advise you better on this. You definitely cannot open the IP side of things unless you want to buy a new pump assembly - not serviceable at all.

its all good I called tommy at affordable tractor and he told me how to get in there, and yep the rail was stuck and there was some crud in therte that no soaking would of helped, I took pics of how to get into the pump were the rail is, its pretty easy first you take the 3 small nuts off holding the primer on the ip pump, take the fuel hose off comming from the tank so the primer caan swing out of the way, then behind it there are four flat head screws holding on a plate, take those out and there is the rail it is a dark grey bar with 3 screws on it, it needs to be able to move free, under mine was a blob of gunk you can see it in the pics , spray it all out with wd40 and your good to go, put it back together and fill her up with oil and if that was the problem it should work, mine is running great a little clackity but i guess thats how these chinese engs sound

yea i still have to sand and ospho the fuel tank, then re-paint it and im not sure if ill re-paint the air box or not it looks kinda bland just black, I also have to change out the fluids in the trans, I would of got more done today but I had a b-day party the fam and I had to go to so I had to leave it, but after church tomorrow ill be back at it, in one of the pics above I shot the oil pressure at idle 800 900 rpm is that an ok oil pressure it does rise to the middle of the .4 and .8 on the gauge when the rpm is up around 1100rpm

Oil pressure looks real good - in your picture it looks to be pointed at .4 to .5 MPa on the gauge which if set up like mine works out to between about 55psi @.4 to about 72 psi@ .5 Glad she's up and running:thumbsup:

wow thats pretty good pressure, i would say its at the .5 mark or just below it, one other thing that was going on when i ran it was it was throwing a little bit of greyish smoke that had a strong fuel smell actually it was hurting my eyes in my closed up barn well the barn doors were open and i had fans blowing in fresh air, it wasnt a lot of smoke, I thought it was from the rings still seating seeing that the motor only has about 20 min on it as of now, also it never got to 80c it only got to about 60c, or could i have a dribbling injector it was clackling pretty good, is the smoke normal on these chinese motors when new with zero hrs on them

Thinking maybe 1 injector pipe connection is leaking causing it to make some extra noise.
Had to re- tighten the injectors connections on my chinese tractor repeatedly (after injector replacement) to get them to stop leaking or (weeping) and it did quiet the engine down some

The best method I found was to let it run for a minute or two and then take and hit each connection with an air gun. It would expose any diesel leakage immediately.
Shut the tractor down, lightly loosen and re-tighten the weepers spray with air till good and dry and repeat the above until nothing leaks... This may not be the problem- but eliminating leaks will make sure each injector is getting all of the fuel that is sent to it for each injection event
Guessing those injectors could be a little gummed up, after sitting for so long- may just need some running time to completely clear all air out of the injection system and smooth out or you could have a bad injector..?? May want to check the valve clearances when head re-torque time comes -loose settings making the top end a little noisy

Have seen many posts on these engines that ran low on fuel and then made a lot of racket and had some smoke- due to air or an injector problem many of them were brand new and after a little running time with a a full tank smoothed right out... good luck, and am sure you will get it running excellent

Glad you're up and running.
If the heads have pre-combustion chambers there isn't anything you can do to eliminate the knock.
Good call on the grey-ish smoke, yup, unburned fuel. If there were more it would be white. Could have a dribbler.
If you have bearings that are too tight, that will also account for high oil pressure. I would have felt better if you had plasti-gaged them. Oh well.

yea i think it is just air in the fuel system, its getting to sound better as i drive it around my yard, it did stall on me a couple of times while I was ideling around with it but i would get off of it and pump the primer and it would fire off and go again, I found that my main fuel line comming from the tank to the bottom of the ip pump is bulging and looks like its delaminating so it also might be doing that on the inside of the line so im going to have to replace that asap, that might be why its stalling also, and she did start to rise in temp it did climb to about 90c is that ok or is that getting too hot, also what is to hot for these y385 engs, thanks guys for all your help and answers to my questions, I usually fig stuff out on my own but it really makes you feel better when someone eles tells you the same thing hahahah, and also makes you think when they tell you somthing elese

90°C is only 194°F which isn't too high, but if you have a 180° thermostat, it is. Could be stuck.
What's too hot? Good question. It's all about design, which includes metallurgy and thermodynamics. I'm not going to go into it though.
A good temperature is what the factory recommends.
I have a 190° thermostat in my TY395E engine and it runs between 190°F and 195°F. And I'm happy with that.
