dongfeng tractor with y385t wont start help

This may be a stupid suggestion, but when my 254 showed similar symptoms, it was insufficient fuel, even though some was getting through to the injectors.

Clean out the banjo filter again, bleed the top of the canister filter. Keep bleeding and pumping the fuel line, the injector pump, all the way up to the injectors, then try it. I know you've done it all, but try again going along the whole fuel delivery line.

In my (limited) experience you can't assume that anything is working properly until you've checked it yourself. I have to check that fuel is going into a pipe, then ensure that it is coming out the other end. Sometimes it seems to get lost on the way.

Do you know how too ? on the key switch there is a spot between on and start in the spring loaded position that has a H on it, if you have a amp gauge it should also go all the way to discharge and slowly come back up.Hold the switch in the H position for approx. 30 seconds then try to start

The OP has not performed a leak down or compression test yet. Either way, he will have to make an adapter for either the injector or the glow plug.

hahaha thanks tommy i needed to start the day off with a good one like that, I know that you deal with a lot of people in here and at your work that really shouldnt be given the keys to a tractor or a peddle car for that matter, ive seen the questions asked in here like my tractor wont start I turn the key and it goes click, hahaha, but to answer your question yes i know how to start a diesel eng, I am a master marine mecanic by trade, also have owned 5 tractors, a 853 bobcat, 3 dumptrucks, my dodge truck is a 5.9 cummins, and my wife drives a diesel jeep liberty, the only thing at my home that doesnt run on diesel and have a glo plug is my john deer lawn mower, and thats prob gonna change soon, I found a comp test kit at harbor freight for testing diesels has anyone ever used this kit, I was wondering if it would work in the inector hole of the 385

What has been known to happen in rare cases is that the valve lash doesn't get checked during prep and rocker arms loose their push rods. Maybe you want to check that before you order that tester.

If I remember right you had removed the injectors and then cranked it to see about fuel delivery, correct?
What did the spray pattern look like? And how much, was it addiquate?

I'm thinking, this system doesn't by any chance have an electricly controled shut-off valve does it?
A failure there either electricly or in the selinoid itself would explain a whole lot of things.

With all due respect, if you were familiar at all with these tractors you would know that they don't have fuel shutoff solenoids.
Injector pop and leakdown pressure can only be determined with the proper equipment. Volume (in cc's) is determined by the rack position against the barrel and plunger (relative to the helix position) in the fuel injection pump, not the injector.

hahaha well bob i just got back from harbor freight it was a wonderful 35miles ride down I75, but i needed some wire brushes anyway and I wanted the comp tester because i didnt have one that went to 1000psi hahaha im going out to the barn now and gonna take the valve cover off then do the comp test and ill come back on and tell yall what i found
