wow i wish i lived closer, sound like some nice equipment, and by the way what is TVA, i have heard them reffered to a few times on this board, and i think there was even a country song where they said something about "papa got a job with the TVA he bought a washin machine and then a chevrolet" i think it was an alabama song lol

I believe TVA is Tennessee Valley Authority.

hmm, what are they, sorta like army corp of engineers, or park rangers? just curious what they do

The Tennessee Valley Authority is a power generating agency of the Federal Government. Around here, north Alabama, they are responsible for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant and the Wheeler Dam. I believe TVA was created under the FDR administration. And yes the TVA reference was from "Song of the South" a song by the country band "Alabama".

thanks for explainin that, i figured it musta been some sorta gov agency since the way it was reffered to in the song, and how a few other people on this board have mentioned TVA access roads and such in there property. just wasnt realy sure what they did if they were a power company or like a park or what, but now i understand better, thanks

Yep Brent told you right. My big lathe came from one of the ower station machine shops and Muscle shoals Mack bought it from a TVA auction then i got it. They have some good buys at there auctions. Alot of time 3 phase machine tools discourage buyers im looking at a jig borer right now in a sealed bid. Its an old Clearfield its about 15 000 pounds with an18 or 20 inch boring capacity.

well i finaly got a chance to play with the root rake, unfourtanatly another project has come up that needs to be done pretty soon so i wont be able to do what i wanted with the rake for another few weeks atleast, but i tried it out and it works nice raking out brush
