E-Mail Notification Delivery

   / E-Mail Notification Delivery #93
I have two accounts. One is AOL, which does not receive any notifications from TBN. The other is GMAIL. I set up that account just so I could receive the TBN notifications.

This morning, after reading this thread, I switched my info on TBN to send everything to my AOL account, but it is still not working, so I just switched back. It wasn't coming under spam, and I even have TBN listed as a site I want to receive emails from. Anyone have any info that may help?

Is there anyone using AOL and receiving email notifications?

Update:

We disabled the new system for a day while we were fixing some issues. Now the broken links should be resolved.

If you use AOL and are not receiving notifications from this point forward, please let me know.

Regarding AOL....

Back in 2004 we got a spam filter. It immediately started tagging e-mail from AOL as spam. The reason was AOL did not list their e-mail servers in a reverse DNS list anywhere. Almost all e-mail systems use reverse DNS to look up the sender to try to see if they are legitimate before passing the e-mail on to the users. Since the spam filter could not determine if the sending address was legit, it tagged it as spam. So, AOL e-mail would always come through and go immediately to the users' junk mail folders. I spoke with several people at AOL several times and they said that's the way it is and they weren't going to do anything about it.

They had around 25 million subscribers back then.
Today they have less than 5 million. Wonder why?

Day before yesterday (3-9-2011), I couldn't get on the Internet so I called tech support at my ISP and after well over an hour of change this, change that, try this, try that, he finally concluded that my modem was defective and he'd have to send me a new one. The new one arrived yesterday afternoon (made in China, of course) with pretty simple instructions except when you turn it on, the instructions say "if all five lights don't come on within 2 or 3 minutes STOP NOW and call technical support." So I called since this thing only has 4 lights, but does have what appear to be two additional unlabelled lenses for lights. The instructions are for a different model, but are simple and correct otherwise.

However, once again I'm receiving no e-mails at all from TBN.
