Hi Everybody,

Today we have implemented a new system for e-mail delivery of all outgoing notifications being sent by the forum. This includes new account notices, password requests, e-mail notifications of replies to threads, digests, etc.

In the past, we had a delivery rate of around 60-70% which left a lot of members in the dark, so to speak, when it came to notifications of thread replies. We specifically had issues with AOL and AT&T account delivery.

Our new system should deliver 99.9% of messages. In testing, all messages have been going out in less than 60 seconds from the request time.

If you had problems in the past with not receiving e-mail notifications, please let me know if you notice a difference.

Thank you!

I am currently getting notifications about links that I am following, however, the hyperlink in the email back to the site is dead. This started a couple hours ago for me. Ken Sweet

Yep, I just got my first one with the new system a few minutes ago; no link to click on to go directly to that post.

Could you guys post the text of the e-mails you're getting?

   / E-Mail Notification Delivery #5
Darn it, I'd already deleted it and then emptied the deleted items folder. And I haven't gotten one since.

You can set it up in your "My Home" to email you everytime someone posts in a subscribed thread.

No I do not use it here.

I use it for a couple of forums that I do not frequent often.

You can also get emails to notify you of a PM, if you wish.

It will generally only email you once per thread that you are subscribed to, until you login & read that thread again. So, unless you are subscribed to a zillion threads that get replied to by others all at once, no you wouldn't normally receive tons of emails.

Ok I found the issue... it has to do with the e-mail being sent in multipart text and HTML but the links aren't live in HTML. We'll fix it.

And there's been a number of replies to threads I'm subscribed to, but I've not gotten a single e-mail since the one I mentioned above.

Email notifications still have dead links as of 8:30 PM Central Time. Server is also very slow. Ken Sweet

At time I have recieved as many as 6 copies of the same posting in a thread, but more often like 2-3.
Is that because I have visited the thread that number of times?

Guess I am a TBN junkie!

I was having the same problem but found out the emails were going to my 'spam' folder.

Well I tried that ... those are in "My Home" ... no email notifications.

I've now gotten a couple of e-mail notifications and they're back to normal with the links.
