Not sure of the answer to your question, but if you have a smart phone, or know someone who does, there are several free decible meter apps that you can download to your phone, and then take db readings using the phone. I loaded one on my Iphone, and it is pretty neat for reading noise levels in different environments.

Great advice, didn't think about that and I have a smartphone and also a network engineer

I wear ear muffs, just hang them over the handles when I get off the tractor. Always have to check for spiders before I put them on again.

It's not just the decibel level you need to be concerned with, it's the duration of the exposure. Even low level noise over long periods will damage your hearing.

Open header racing has pretty much killed parts of my hearing range, and that's only for seconds at a time. Working around turbine aircraft did the rest.

I never gave spiders a thought until I got bite by one and almost lost my leg. I took 8 months of treatments to cure the infection. I check for spiders now.

Not that I am old and bent lol, pretty close, I have packs of ear buds and three sets of ear muffs in different places so that I have no excuse. I like that the birds can still sake me up. Better more than less IMO when it comes to safety.:thumbsup:

I dont wear any my hearing has been shot since I was kid shooting guns w/o ears on.

Back then we tore the filters off cigs and stuffed them in our ears wasn't good enough now I hear only what I want to hear.
