Junkman,
I did my research at the website for the USPS for fraudulent/stolen money order numbers FIRST. I printed out the list and went to PO to cash them in.......had to go to 3 different windows to cash them in but.......I was happy with green in my pocket when I got home.

This one company takes a picture of their machine outside of their storefront so the business name is in the background. He also put the business name and phone number across the bottom of the machine so it can't easily be edited out if the picture is stolen.

I saw a nice Kubota for sale by 2 different users in 2 different locations, but they both had the same guy sitting in the driver's seat! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Maybe it is true that everybody has a twin somewhere?

/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gifI think Ebay sucks.
They should advertise it as a place to purchase, not an auction.
Everytime I bid on anything they pull the item if they don't get exactly what they want.
To me that's not an auction.

I stopped to look at a tractor on the side of the road a while back.. calle dthe guy.. got the price.. asked a few questions.. like how was it maintained.. etc. Owner told me he alwyas had it done at the dealer.. and had just had some repair work done on it.. etc. I called back later to find out what dealer serviced it.. I was actually getting ready to buy it.. it was a large 130hp Fiat.. and I was interested.. just wanted to know where to take it for service.. etc.. When i called back.. and asked 'which' dealer.. the guy stumbled.. and didn't know which one serviced it but said 'many will'.. and then said that he had only had it a short amount of time.. etc..... what a crock... I stepped away. Unit is still for sale ( from xmas ) and as far as I know.. still around that asking price.. which wasn't really bad.. except that the owner is now a scheister in my book.. and I find it hard to buy from someone I can't trust.. etc.

I don't know what you have bid on, but as both a seller and buyer on e bay, I have had nothing but good experiences. I have never had to pull an auction, but I have had some auctions not meet my reserve price and the item didn't sell. I put realistic reserve prices on items that I sell to protect my investment and sometimes there just aren't any bidders. I have also seen prices go out of sight and have closed the auction and sold to the high bidder because I feel that the price that it was at was more than I thought it worth and didn't want to have the bidder come to his senses and cancel the bid. Many times two people will get into a bidding war and drive the price way beyond reality. I have seen this happen at live auctions also. If you are bidding and not winning, then your idea of value is different than the market place. People that bid seriously usually win auctions..... maybe not all of them, but they will win their fair share. There are a lot of "tire kickers" on e bay that bid low amounts and even they win sometimes. Like any endeavor, you have to hone your skills to be successful. I have 638 positive feedback and a 99.8% satisfaction rating. I have 1 negative feedback from a person that didn't complete a auction purchase and gave me that as a retaliatory act for my negative feedback for him. I also have 1 neutral feedback from a person that felt that UPS charged too much for shipping. I have never figured out how they felt that was my fault. I buy and sell under the name of Junkmann2 if you would like to see what I buy and sell....

I've had good luck for the most part too, but this auction
ended, but not from ebay ending it even with 6 hours notice.

I emailed them in 3 different ways, through their website and directly
to 2 different parts of their "security" system.

I also emailed the one bidder, who is probably part of the scam
he also only registered 3 days ago. Most people know to be
cautious bidding on something where the person has been an
ebay member for 3 days with 0 feedback.

I wanted to be sure myself he was part of the scam so I gave
him a headups up at least if he wasn't that he wasn't going to get anything
for any money he sent. I'm sure ebay will contact him EVENTUALLY.

They haven't sent me even a form acknowledgement, 10 hours
after I reported the fraud.

So keep it mind guys, the tractor, or boat or whatever you
see may just be a picture of someone elses. And that Ebay isn't exactly going to jump on the situation. That tells me
that either they don't care (I think they do,) or they are
overwhelmed with emails with the subject 'EBAY FRAUD!!'

Quite an eye opener.
