Got the last three hoses on, and started it. No leaks, this picture was after running it. Cylinders and steering unloader do not leak either.

Yeah, doesn’t it look purdy? Not for long though, I’m sure.

The rear end took five quarts. I pulled the drain plug real quick to see what was in there, it looked good. The front of the front axle was still nasty, so I did not pull the plug yet. But, pressure washed it yesterday. So will be able to do it next time, it was still too wet yesterday.

I marked the wheels for easy alignment putting them back on, after working on the brakes. It is an odd bolt pattern.

A casualty of working on the steering manifold and unloading valve, put a crack in the copper air line going from compressor to the tank. I took the line off and brought it down with me, need a sample to get a new one.

Located all the filters, this is the engine. The transmission and steering filters are underneath, and on their sides. I am thinking changing them will be a big mess. I remember changing them on Army trucks, but they were right side up. The bucket hydraulics only has the tank filter.

The drop of oil visible in the center of the picture is on the bottom of the steering hydraulic control valve, under the floor. We put new seals in it already, not sure why it is leaking. Now that it is running I will look at it while running. Maybe it is a hose. Or maybe the metal parts are too worn to seal, dunno. It would not be such a big problem if it was not directly above the parking brake drum, it is putting oil inside the drum. Luckily I do not have the re lined shoes back in there yet. I just got new springs, but will wait until the leak is fixed.

Changed the fuel filters.

At one point I had it warming up, and the RPMs dropped and it died shortly after. Then would only start and die. I thought I would have to wait and ask my diesel mechanic friend. Then I was underneath looking at something else, and noticed the fuel line under the tank was kinked. It had got caught on something and pulled to the side when I lowered it back down after working on the steer cylinders and spool valve. I straightened it back out, and it is back to normal now.

Jacked up the rear to try and get the rear axle articulation pin back in, it would only go through two of the three plates though. It痴 off about an eighth of an inch to the side, I didn稚 have a helper to turn the steering wheel while I pry on it.
