Man you have some projects ahead of you. Take lots of pictures of the spool valve rebuild. Curious how that goes...

Yeah lots of projects. My wife wouldn't let me spend more money on something in better condition. The good thing about having lots of projects, is when I find out I need something else to complete one project and it's too far away to go get it, I can work on something else and still be productive. And just bring the parts for the first project next time.

I have a life long tractor mechanic friend thatç—´ been helping me, he thinks the spool valve is no big deal. Actually I could do it myself if I had to. The exploded view shows the part number of each o-ring, and theyæ±*e labeled in their individual bags. Thereç—´ nothing to go flying when you remove the valve, and do one at a time. Itç—´ like the steering control valve, but with more o-rings. We did that one together, and referenced where each o-ring went.

I don’t know why it’s putting in weird characters, it’s correct when I hit submit.

These pictures are from yesterday, a storm finished the day before.

The locks I got will work, but will have to be modified. I didn’t take the truck all the way to the loader, because it’s a sloped shelf road and that might not go well in the snow. So I didn’t have power (inverter) to run the drill, didn’t think to bring the battery powered drill. Will need to bring a 1” hole saw next time too, to make more access to attach the screws.

If I'm gonna put the ether injector on the side of the blower I need to add fittings to back it off more, it'll hit the fan otherwise.

Found out the heater fan works, the wire attaching screws were loose. I broke one of the tabs off when tightening the screw, so i’ll get a new toggle and add it to the box. The fan makes noise when switching speeds or turning it off, but otherwise it’s good.

I can clean the water neck where the block heater needs to go from under the seat, but there are some stiff hoses blocking access to it that way too. Maybe clean it that way and change it the other way. I also looked at installing a cable to the blower emergency shut off, it doesn’t have one. I have a cable and stop, but there’s nowhere to attach the cable housing on the engine. Make something? Find the right part?

Does this make changing the spool valve o-rings look easier?

NO. Spool valves are complex creatures.

I give you credit for getting in there...

I tend to break things down. There are seven holes with parts in them, i’ll put six out of my mind and focus on just one. Then i’ll start to see a pattern and it gets easier. Plus my mechanic thinks he will be in good enough condition to go help, he’s healing from injuries. He likes that stuff, he has a reputation for rebuilding components all the other mechanics/shops want to replace whole.
