Embarrissing Tractor moments?

I did about the same thing with the lower arms on a 3 pt hitch. I disconnected from the boxblade at one area, everything went fine. I got on tractor and went to the area where bush hog was sitting. I backed up very slowly, and something did not feel right. I had forgotten to RAISE the arms and they were digging in the ground a bit.

I hope I will remember to raise them from now on.

Geez, this is like confessional or something....

I was loading my backhoe onto my 16'+3 equipment trailer, which was connected to my Dodge dually. The whole rig was on a hill.

I stalled the backhoe just as I got the front tires on the trailer. The rear tires were still on the ground. The stalling motion rocked the trailer, which caused the trailer ramps to fold up.

The weight of the backhoe lifted the rear of my dually off the ground. With me still sitting on my BH, the truck, trailer, the backhoe and I went for a nice ride down the driveway, across a state road, and into a farmer's field across the street. Fortunately, the rig didn't jack knife. Moreoever, I wasn't killed. Lesson learned!

OK, here's mine: On my new Kubota L3940 I was using my FEL to lift something up & over the sides of & into my utility trailer, & when I was done went to shift from L to M range to back away faster ... but hit the cruise bar instead, still in forward (cruise lever is right next to range selector lever). Caught it real quick, but not quick enough as it put a little crunch bend in my trailer's fender. That fender was no match for the tractor. :laughing:

Confession time...

About the third time I was hooking up my 200CX loader to my JD2320, I couldn't get the lower brackets on the loader arms onto the pins on the tractor. The arms were too low! After futzing around with the tractor for a while, and trying everything within my power to get the lift arms up high enough, the wife walked over and pointed out... "don't those arms go on these pins down here?" Doh! I was trying to get the lower arms on the upper set of pins. Won't make that mistake again!

A long time ago in a place far far away I purchased an IH 444 with a very heavy FEL at a NC auction. Backed up the Ford dually and trailer on a slope and started to load on to the trailer. As tractor climbed the ramps the rear of the trailer dropped and the dually rear tires came two feet off the ground, the whole load started to roll back down the slope. makes me glad my new trailer has legs on the ramps, as for my old trailer, I used cribbing under the center to keep it from squatting. A lil bit of hassle.. but worth it.

Ok, everyone has a story. But I like the young lady's story the best. The mental picture it paints is a lot prettier than some of these.
By the way, last weekend I was lifting about a 1100 pound rock chained in to the FEL up a very steep stepped hill backward in 4WD when the wife said the back tires came off the ground in my brand new L3400 with a 750 pound counterweight on the back. Seems the last step was a little steeper than the others.
She says it lifted them about 2 foot. All I know is I dropped that bucket/rock like a hot potato. I turned around and hooked the rock/log-chain to the draw bar and skidded the rock up the hill. no problem. Once on flat ground I chained it back in the bucket, and took off with it (very slowly). Cleaned up after positioning the rock.:laughing:
