So, I'm guessing that the majority of those that are using pre-ban stoves are not going to run out and replace them. Since those jerks will continue to treat the atmosphere as a garbage dump, wouldn't it seem reasonable that the EPA maybe expand the regulation to force them to update?

Because there's ALOT of people and companies making ALOT of money right now. And have been for awhile. The wealth in this country is huge and very polarized. Meaning huge class differences.

Ahh yes the grass is greener concept. Still waiting for the definition of what is a killing?

Why would you consider that any more reasonable than banning some (pick your own numbered year) predated cars from using the roads?

Any jack booted thugs come to yours or any others house to confiscate any stoves (or anything else!) yet?

What's the beef?

Wow, simmer down. Any chance you're feeling a bit guilty about the treating the atmosphere as a garbage dump with any of your possessions?

I'm not the one bitching or having fits about 'new' regulations.

Ah, it's a "good for thee, but not for me" thing.

You're probably right. The number of pre-ban stoves is decreasing (it's been 24 years) and will continue to decrease because MOST people will go buy a new one at the store. Many people care about pollution, like clean air, want to do the right thing (within reason) get a stove that burns cleaner, and comply with the localities. Others don't but they are in the minority.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see what the plan was - and that it's working without hassling the citizens -and that there's no reason to be alarmed.

Which is my point. So WHY would Forbes publish an un-truth as if some onerous gov't meddling was passed yesterday? WHY do they want you to believe this un-truth? Why was it tied to 2nd Am? They want to get people upset, and it worked (for the gullible). But "why did they do it?", is perhaps the biggest question.

Yeah, sure have it any way you want golfer. Or should I say goffer?
BUT
Be afraid, be very afraid because we're coming in the middle of the night and in the dead of winter to rip your stove out at the point of a gun.

Is that a better line for your dead ended mind set?

Yep that seems to be what people believe.
