I just called Everlast and they said the backordered 200STs will be arriving this week and might even ship out on Friday (27 April).

In about ~45 minutes or so, we're going to find out the backorder/wait time on the Powerplasma 50S plasma cutter.

I didn't plan to order this until the end of the month. However, my Agri-Power QH and my LMC box blade decided otherwise. I have to cut a bunch of 1/2" plate and bar stock just because the LMC decided to make their 3PH attachments 3/4" too short! What a PITA. :(

I'll let you know what Mark says.

Thanks,

ETA (about 40 minutes later): Well that was easy! Mark has a 50S on it's way to me as we speak. Just ordered it and it should ship today or tomorrow. The rest will be up to UPS.

Can you say Excellent Service! Yea, I knew you could, it was a rhetorical question. :)

I picked up my new PowerArc 200ST at UPS last night and spent about 3 hours familiarizing myself with it some today. I have to say it has been one pleasant surprise after another right from the start opening the box. Besides the infinite current adjust it runs a lot different from my AC tombstone but that is not a bad thing at all. So far the main differences I have found are that it strikes an arc like a dream even at low current settings, it runs much evener and smoother under my shaky hand, it runs 15 or 20 amps hotter than the tomb stone which I always had to set higher than the recommended current, and the way it responds to arc length changes is way different. More tolerant or less puddle control how ever you want to look at it. And the rod is less likely to stick at low currents or when buried. Plus it is so small and light you can pick it up with one hand and set it where you are working - kind of makes up for the short leads and then some.
I am just getting started with it but I can see that those who said the AC 225 would end up in a lonely corner were absolutely correct.

And I got my Everlast Supercut 50S plasma cutter late Wed. afternoon. Got it put together yesterday hooked it up to shop air and electrons and put it right to work.

First job: Removing the welds holding this 145 railroad rail to my LMC box blade. Sorry, no pics of the plasma cutted metal as yet; I'll see if I can some today.

Here's pics of the RR rail I'm trying to remove:

Mark,
I am planning to do some body work on my tractor fender/floor pan etc.. I was given a Lincoln AC/DC 225 a while back & I've yet to install it so it still sits in box. I don't think it's an appropriate welding machine for doing sheet metal work. What do you suggest for a newbie to welding?

CajunRider I helped a guy add onto a wheel barrow. I used his Everlast 140E Mig welder. That is electrical conduit around the top edge of the wheel barrow.

Look at the Power i-MIG 200 or Power i-MIG 140E (as Shield Arc posted above).
