F250 6.2 V8 vs F150 Ecoboost

Have not. Was looking to take advantage of the big rebates on the 2014. Will give it a look. Little leery buying used without knowing history.

You can search for new vehicles on cars.com. I have found vehicles that way. Search for a new, 2014, f-150, silver, crew cab, 4x4, and that should help narrow it down. Find a truck that look like it has what you want the copy and paste (you will need to delete everything after the = before pasting) the VIN here to look at the window sticker.

My thing is if the out of town dealer thinks he will have no problem selling it, then why hasn't he? It's almost March and he's still sitting on it. The Ford dealers around here have lots of leftover 14's that they would do anything to put someone in. They don't have max tow that I'm aware of though, not sure I've ever seen either ford dealer stock those for whatever reason. They'll gladly give you $10,000 off and that's without really having to sharpen their pencil to make the deal happen. I bet you could get them to come off to $14000 off.

All good points and didn't know could copy VIN and view window sticker. Will do little more research. I am able to buy under the "X" plan which is supposed to put the price at $400 over invoice without any negotiating. Thanks again for all the suggestions and feedback.

Is there any way you can wait til the end of the year and buy a heavily discounted 2015? I'm hearing the changes they made to the 5.0 are awesome and the new truck is in another universe compared to the 14's. Just something to think about. I honestly think Ford will start wanting to move these 15's here pretty soon.

I think most large dealers list the vehicle below invoice. I know a guy that can get some kind of special pricing on GM's. His daughter was going to buy a Cruze. They went to the local dealer and his special pricing was more than what they sold for normally.

Wasn't really looking to buy, but got to thinking that the body changes to aluminum may be something that needs a few years of real world testing, the insurance pricing could be higher(I haven't checked), discounts/rebates are good right now on 2014, Ecoboost has had a few years of testing and overall seems to be having the one issue with the moisture in inter cooler. I guess the thing that has motivated me is that the 2014 felt like a tested platform versus the 2015 being more "experimental". I know Ford has tested prior to release, but considering I would like to keep vehicle 10 years makes me feel more comfortable with something that has been out awhile. One of the salesman I had spoken to even explained that some had preferred the XLT with leather over the Lariat due to not having to take all of the extra electronics and bells and whistles which may be something extra to repair down the road.

New intake manifold and cast iron version of the Mustang headers.
I had heard there were some changes and even an increase in tow rating. Not sure if that was more due to the 700 lbs reduction in truck weight or a performance increase. I was impressed with the current 5.0 acceleration during test drive. Thing that points back to Ecoboost is ALL state it out performs the 5.0 in towing hands down and then that the 5.0 is equal in other areas. That gives me the feeling that if the Ecoboost is the mark that the 5.0 is being measured by....just go with the Ecoboost.

If you are a long term keeper the 5.0 would be my choice. With the fairly long corrosion warranty the alum body would be too.

The ecoboost may have more power but from everything I have read the 5.0 is MORE than adequate and gets comparable mileage.
