Bummer Greg. Get these behind you..... :(

Not related to the motor and should be an easy fix. Stinks but just a nuisance.

Flex lines at front calipers also suspect... Hope to replace them as well. Sitting for the past 2 years has done a number as for rust progression.

Does seem to be running good otherwise.

Sorry for your 1st outing. A good lesson for all to flush their brake fluid every now and then.

Your part of the country sure is beautiful in the background. :)

Got the brake lines fixed and freed up the caliper, with any luck I wont have to replace it. Almost drove it to work this evening... Probably tomorrow if all goes well.

The view from our house is nice, horizon view in all directions. Down side is that out of 118 acres, the only flat spots worth building on already have the house and barn on them! 100% grade A, West Virginia hillside.

Got the truck inspected today, caliper still sticking sometimes. Biger issue is a trans noise.

I assumed that the trans only lost a small amount of fluid when I disconnected the cooler lines. In reality, it totally drained it, and all the idle time and my little trip down the road (a mile or so) was with no lube. I an almost at the point of pulling the trans for damage assessment.

Those trucks made a funny grinding noise at idle that was in the torque converter while I was at the dealer.

The torque converter in this truck is called a clutch... *grin* I looked up a bearing kit, can be found on ebay for $280-$300, if thats all it takes. Phone calls tomorrow to someone who rebuilds these ZF6 manuals is in order.

And hope my deal on the other 6spd crew cab goes thru!

Which front flex lines does that use, the ones that look like a fat rubber hose, or the ones that look like a thin semi-rigid plastic tube?

I have had issues with the "hose" type in the past, but my current truck ('03 F150) has the "tube" type. Was thinking these were more reliable, but if you suspect yours then maybe I should check mine, as well as my calipers...

The front flex lines just look like every other rubber flex line... the issue is the metal tubing part from the flexible part to the banjo fitting that bolts to the caliper... quite rusty, I'd not be surprised if either side burst there under a panic stop type situation.

Trans issues are the order of the day... been on the phone with my trans guy, has told me a few things to check, in the truck to start with, then partially disassembled.
