Good Afternoon Guys,
Well we got a little more done over the past week. I thought I was going to really fly when I started to put up the V groove pine, but I seemed to forget that the insulation might slow me down a bit ! :( With the trusses on 24" centers the insulation bats dip down a couple inches or better, and that is tough to overcome when your installing the pine by yourself !

Anyways we are making some real progress,,,

Back in Ct, I need to move our Heritage soapstone stove out of the basement, and up to Vt. I got started on that today, I previously bought a Warn Pulzall from Northern, and rigged up a lift to get the stove on a cart, and then will pull it up through the Bilco doors on ramps to a trailer. So far so good ! ;)

Did I mention that I started to realize that I may have put too many electrical outlets in, you only realize it when you have to make all the extra cuts ! :)

So here are a few new pics,,,

Good Evening Guys,
Just a few updated photos of our progress,,,

It took two full days to get that ceiling put up, ohhh my aching back !!! Really tough on the back shoulders and neck :(

Oh, and almost forgot to put in the back door light  that would have caused a problem with the boss ! :) Also got our flooring in this past week.

Good Morning Eddie,
We bought all the V groove pine from MacLeods Lumber yard in Whitehall,Ny. Good people to work with, in fact I bought almost everything from them !

We are very close to wrapping this job up, a lot of little things to do, but most of all the larger projects are done. I have the deck done, and got all the laminate flooring down, although I still have a fair amount of V groove pine to install yet ,,,,,

Hey I also got the tractor to do some work, i brought the wood stove up from Ct in the back of the pickup truck and managed to get it over to the back door before sliding it inch by inch to its final resting place !:( Darn that thing is heavy !!!

BTW who says you dont use a wood stove in August, had to try it out, and it did go down in the 40's at night ! :)

Good Afternoon Guys,
I have a question on what you think I should do about the stove location. Im not sure if you can tell from the above pictures I posted, but the back right corner of the stove is only 10.5 inches away from the wall, where as the left corner is 13 or 14 " away. The manual suggests 12" minimum, so Im thinking I may have to do some type of shield in that location. We really could not have changed the stove pipe location much because of the way the trusses were located. I would welcome any helpful suggestions. I really dont want to turn the stove any more, because then the front will not be parallel with the slate I put down earlier !

Looking very nice Scotty! That is a fine room. I like the slate from door to stove and stairs. That was thinking ahead.

Maybe you can order a close clearance heat shield for your stove? They are really nothing more than a piece of sheet metal with ~2" stand-offs from the stove. If that isn't possible you can mount a shield on the wall with stand-offs that wraps around the corner.

Looks very nice. I agree with Dave in liking how you did the slate!!!!

Keep an eye on those French doors. I get a lot of job repairing them at the bottoms where the water hits them and gets into the cracks. Be sure to use plenty of caulking before painting them.

I had one house where its tough to put stove in close to wall but need the walking space so I put up a stone wall. it appears to work for me for 9 years. perhaps you could do same, put thin stone wall under the window area.

Good Evening Guys,
Dave, Eddie and Radioman thank you for your suggestions !:)

I guess this is the last installment on this project. I still need to finish trim all the windows, and base molding around the perimeter of the family room and bed room. I still have some more v groove pine to install also, but it will get done soon. I also have a bunch of bush hogging to do in the next couple of weeks to trim the field up for the fall, so Im guessing I will bounce back and forth between the two jobs ! ;)

Anyway some parting shots of both rooms with some real furniture, where I can actually sit down ! ;):)

Thanks for everyone's comments and support !

The last picture is the future home of " Kathleens' Ole Irish Pub ", which I believe is my job to build also, lots of pressure there ! ;):)
