My brother after college in early 70s spent a couple years going to 50 countries (hippy days). I liked two quotes he picked up from a holy man in Tibet. Brother asked him the secret to life. Answer was "The secret is to help someone. If you can't help at least don't hurt them".
Then brother asked what the man thought about possessions, collecting stuff. Answer was "He who owns cows tends cattle".
I thought they were pretty good.

At the slot machines I unwittingly caused some mirth amongst the patrons whilst observing a machine, it proudly boasted '243 way s to win' I said 'and 9757 way to lose', then a message popped up 'the god of wealth is coming' to which I said 'yes, but he is collecting'.

In the 50's after dinner Dad used bathroom off of living room. Mom walked in disgusted, brought back pine scented spray. When she left Dad says "Now it smells like somebody sh*t in the woods".
