Fire extinguisher

Good idea, getting a fire extinguisher for the tractor. I thought about getting a CO2 extinguisher in case I have a diesel runoff to spray into the air intake. But never did yet.

I’ve never seen it done or tried either. It would either work by displacing the O2 or by freezing material over the intake blocking all air. I’d love to give it a try. If we have a training and we happen to have a CO extinguisher (we don’t have many anymore), I’ll try it and report back!

Typically they have a fuel shut off for that issue.

Apparently is not running away on diesel. That would be easy to stop. It's running on crankcae oil.

I got 10# heavy steel vehicle brackets on amazon or eBay. About $20. Attached using three 2” square U-bolts to front canopy posts.
Fire extinguishers are products you hope you never have to use. You only have seconds to stop a small fire from getting uncontrollable. Carry one on vehicles, RV, boat and tractors. Have never needed for myself but helped at two different situations from getting much worse.

Or you can make one, this one is from a piece of purlin left over from building a barn.

My, what a shiny GREEN tractor. Nice!

That was shortly after I bought it. It's now a little over 9 years old and has faded to a nicer non-reflective finish.

Usually ones made for Jeeps are pretty good at hanging on tight. I picked up one with 3 velcro straps around the fire extinguisher and it had 2 large velcro straps to mount on the Jeep roll cage.

Regardless of how you mount it, make sure you shake EVERY fire extinguisher you own periodically. If the compound settles in the bottom, it can get rock hard.

Something most never think about when stocking tools on machines or in sheds.

Probably need to pick a couple up, one for the Blue Djinn and one for the shed where everything including the fuel barrel is stored.

I too had difficulty finding the best mount and ended up going with a nylon version that straps on. Has worked extremely well for me and was easy to remove from my old tractor to my new.
