I have mainly maple, ash and beech. I would like to process 200 face cord per year.

My budget is 7000 Canadian dollar. I need to purchase almost everything.

I want to have a log table infeed, something like this:

Theses models are driving by the PTO of the tractor.

If you notice those have a PTO shaft on them. That means the pump is left on the processor l the time. Do some research on them and see but I would not be surprised if they don't have a gear box running that pump. That way you can use lower RPM's on your tractor. E mail the company or talk to a dealer that is the best way to get info to build what you want and then you can use ideas from several to make yours

Why should they have gearboxes? It does not make sense to me. They size the hydraulic pump accordingly. There is no need for mechanical gearing down since the hydraulic pump's displacement will be sized to match the load and flow

Because they do not run the tractor wide open to get the output from the pump. A tractor does not turn at 540 RPM's until it is between half and 3/4 throttle and I know for a fact the one I saw run the tractor was not running at 1/2 throttle

Just use a higher gpm pump and turn it slower to accomplish the flow you need.

Exactly. And especially with his 80Hp tractor, he can have more power that he can utilize without buying the super expensive motors like the F11, even in low rpms.

The models that I "study" have indeed a gearboxes and regular gear pumps, most of the time between two and three.

Example:
If you look closely you will see it

This one above have an angle gear box.

But they always say on their manual to run the tractor pto at 520-540 rpm.

My tractor motor need to be at 1900 rpm to drive the pto at 540rpm. max rpm is 2200

But i can have a direct pto link to the tractor motor or 1000 rpm.

My idea was to use some pto pump.

maybe two on the same shaft.

4570man I like your idea, because I think that my tractor reach max torque at 1400 rpm I think. so no need to go higher.

I found some answer about a question that I ask on this website:

Do you know something about the thing below the solenoid that look like a manifold, that we see in the video below, at 2min 52 sec?

Well I found something similar on surpluscenter.com and they call it a "subplate" .

I don't know if it's exactly the same thing that we see on the video, but if I go with solenoid operated I can use something like that.

I have a new question:

Do you think that the valve of the hydraulic chainsaw need a motor spool (work ports A and B connected when valve in neutral) ?

Or there is not enough inertia to have this kind a valve?

Thanks

Do you think that a sudden stop from 5000rpms will not cause any damage? :)
